Update 9/17/2019: We have released iOS app version 3.6.1 to all users. Please update your app to this version. It is recommended to all experiencing continuous crashes and should resolve this issue.
Hi Everyone - I've merged several posts together.
We're aware of an issue that may cause some iOS users to experience a continuous crash when trying to open the app after updating to version 3.6.
To resolve this, please try to uninstall and reinstall the app from the app store. Even if you have tried this previously, please try again.
If this does not work, our team is working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.
We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

FYI, calories burned is a function of time passing with regards to your basal metabolic rate, so it makes sense that calories burned is updating, however calories from steps is related to step count. Steps can only sync to the Fitbit through Bluetooth, so if you have a dongle on your pc dashboard can see updated steps otherwise you need the app.

I updated to the latest version available this morning. It initially said I didn't have internet access. I closed and if I have both Wi-FI and Bluetooth turned on my Fitbit is now syncing and refreshing all.

Why not email us and advise us of the problem? Fitbit are able to send out weekly updates without any problem. Also quick at cross selling new products. Communication needs to be both ways

Not only do I have problems with text messages and phone call notifications, but also my Charge 2 does not automatically sync with the app even though I have that box ticked, I have to mannually sync it and this doesn't always always work either. Before the July update all was good!

Thank you, stevierayhall! I plugged the dongle into my laptop and now can see up-to-date dashboard! Can't remember now when I removed it (I'm guessing > 1 yr), but needed the USB port for something else at the time, and I had been able to see the info without it.

Reinstalling the app from the App Store fixed it for me when nothing else did. Just reinstalled 2 minutes ago.

Hi Carbar24,
The only thing I had to reset was my vocal cue selection. By default, it puts you at 1.0 mile. As far as I can tell, all other data is secure.
Because Fitbit often acts up, I’ve had to delete and reinstall their app many times. It’s always the cue that needs adjusting.

When I start to uninstall the app as per your advice, it warns that this will delete all its data. Is this correct, as I do not want to lose the data!
