I have just returned to SA from overseas and my Fitbit Alta HR flatly refuses to sync with my I-phone.Never had a problem before. Any ideas?

Wish I knew. Mine won't either. Guessing they want me to replace. I will. With another product.

Try logging out of the app then logging in. Saw this method on another thread and it worked for me. Another way is to try the reset button that is located on the charger.

Mine isn't syncing all of sudden either

Mine hasn't worked since Nov 4 even after trying these suggestions and my time is off by about 15 min.

Same here but with android. Only way I can get a sync is to uninstall the app and reinstall every day. Getting really tiresome.
