My device is recording my heart rate as usual but it is no longer showing my average bpm and time in each heart rate zone associated with logged exercise. I am syncing with my iPhone SE.

Hello Jellyjud,
I have now bought Polar Ignite. I like the look & feel of the device + the fact that it has inbuilt GPS - no need to carry phone with me on all the runs. On the other hand, Fitbit is more intuitive to use. I never needed to check Fitbit user manual. Here are some random notes on pro's and con's I have noted so far.
Polar user interfaces are bit more complicated, and I have referred to user manual several times during set up. After learning how to use the device, it is simple to use - just a bit different and more data / training oriented compared to Fitbit. With Fitbit, I loved that it included everything I need, but not too much data.
When training with Ignite, you don't get voice cues about your pace. You do get what ever information you need on your training screen - you can tailor your screens. And you can swim with the device.
Ignite does NOT let you set daily step target. Instead, you can select how active you are (three levels), and then it shows how you are reaching your activity target. You get more activity % with higher intensity activity. Ignite shows also daily step accumulation, if you are interested in that, also gives you activity reminders. Following daily activity is not strongest point of Ignite, based on my short experience.
Ignite is definitely more training oriented. Polar offers free training plans, I have already downloaded mine for Marathon training. Definitely motivating. Based on the data gathered during my runs, it calculates how fit I am and I can then estimate my Marathon target finishing time. Remains to be seen, how well this feature works.
Sleep quality & recovery monitoring in Ignite should also give suggestions, how strained you are and what kind of training is beneficial for you on a specific day. I have no experience on that so far.
I choose Ignite over Apple Watch for two reasons: price and sleep/recovery monitoring which is not included in Apple Watch. I have also very small wrist, that excluded several devices in the market today.

I have had this response 3 times already. and have posted the link to this community a few times asking them to please look into the problem.
After I reminded them that I actually don' t have a Charge 2 but an Alta HR, this is their latest response.
And, YES, I do have a question, which I have asked since my first e-mail ... does FITBIT actually plan to solve this problem?
##
Apologize for the confusion, Yes, you're right that you are using a Fitbit Alta HR and that is what we have on your file.
Please let us know if you have any question.
Sincerely,
Xander M. and the Fitbit Team

Sadly I have to agree with all who suggested switching to apple watch or other brands, I have been relying on auto detect to capture HR for a couple of weeks now but it’s no fun to not know distance and speed of your run. It was fun having the Fitbit will it lasted, we had a good run (pun intended 😉

Moving to Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2, fitbit has lost the plot.

I received my replacement Alta HR today which arrived after 9 emails of trying to explain the problem to Customer Support. I wanted to give it the best chance of success so I proceeded as follows.
I removed my old Alta HR from my FitBit account
I unpaired my old Alta HR from my iPhone
I deleted my FitBit app from my iPhone
I performed a cold restart on my iPhone
I put my old Alta HR in a plastic box which I wrapped in Alfoil and put in the shed
I created a new account with FitBit with a different email address
I reinstalled the FitBit app on my iPhone
I set up the brand new Alta HR using my new account credentials.
Everything looked OK so I set the exercise tracker going and went for a walk ... and hey presto
JUST THE SAME AS BEFORE ... NOTHING IS FIXED ... IT'S NOT THE TRACKER ... IT'S THE SOFTWARE.
At least I now have two Alta HRs that won't produce HR graphs with the GPS maps.

natashaw, my thoughts are running along the same lines. We bought the FitBit because it performed a particular function. Now it doesn't. We should at least get our money back. The thing that is most annoying is not being able to get a straight answer from FitBit.

Hi Divlouw, Some people have pinned it down to July 29th. Myself the last successful HR graph and HR data was on July 22nd but then I got a cold and didn't run again for a couple of weeks. I just wish we could get some sense out of FitBit. I've emailed Customer support again today - email #10

This whole issue is just super frustrating. I have just informed a friend of mine, who is about to buy a FITBIT, about this issue... definitely buying another brand...
Just received this from FITBIT. Nope, they are not listening and is probably not planning to fix the problem...

Hi Divlouw, Now that's something of which I'm not sure. I'm on an iPhone 8. I think I've seen some people on Android who have the same issue but I'm far from sure. It sure would be worth finding out. If it is just an Apple thing it would explain why it not a really widespread thing - like we don't have the whole community going nuts about it. I'm only aware of about 90 to 100 people in about 6 groups.
