I have recently got an alta as had problems with my charge feeling very let down by all of this now my alta had died when charge is so hot to touch and nothing works tried resetting leaving it which I can't as the smell of burning is terrible. I am in a lot of challenges and could literally cry! It makes me do so much more. I'm now worried as this could be a major fault

Do not plug it in anywhere. Just leave it alone

Thanks for visiting the Community @J9morton!
This is pretty weird let me help you out. As a friendly reminder we don't recommend leaving the trackers charging overnight I recommend checking the charging best practices and contact the Support Team as @WendyB mentioned.

My Alta just suddenly got hot tonight on my wrist, so I took it off and it was dead! It won't recharge either! If I plug it in, it gets very hot again!

This is exactly what has happened to mine, just last night! I plugged it in for about an hour - took it off the charger to go to bed, and it was super, super hot. I have left it unplugged to cool down but it won't switch on at all now... any suggestions for who to ask from Fitbit?

Hi,
This same thing has just happened to me today, so hot it nearly burned my skin. What fixed the problem for you?
Thank you,
Jolene

Call Fitbit customer service asap! If yours got really burning hot, it's probably defective and you'll need s new one. If yours is under warranty, they will more than likely send you out a new one. This is happened to mine twice within the first year. I've never been disappointed with their customer service. Good luck!

My Fitbit got extremely hot when I attempted to charge it. It was only plugged in for a few minutes. The charge icon never came in when I originally plugged it in. It died immediately after plugging in

This happened to mine, too. I let it "rest" for a while and tried to restart it. The screen works as long as it it plugged into the charger, but doesn't if it is disconnected. I've contacted customer support but any help is appreciated. Thanks!

This happened to my alta tonight. It got hot charging also. I tried to reset it but wouldn't work. Called customer support and they are going to send me a fedex label to return. Hopefully it is to be replaced. Very frustrated. Only had for one year.

EXACTLY , Is this a known issue with Altas? What did you do to receive attention ?
