I have recently got an alta as had problems with my charge feeling very let down by all of this now my alta had died when charge is so hot to touch and nothing works tried resetting leaving it which I can't as the smell of burning is terrible. I am in a lot of challenges and could literally cry! It makes me do so much more. I'm now worried as this could be a major fault

I’ve called Fitbit and talk to customer support. I’ve had to replace two because of this issue, but they are very efficient about getting a situation handled!

Mine is doing the same thing. I am so upset as this is my third fitbit and it is no longer under warranty. I am so disgusted and think it should be replaced.

My fitbit, Alta HR was failing to charge for a while and after a week it started again but could only see half a line on the screen. Spoke with Fitbit and only offered 25% off a new one, but offer only good for one month. I continued to wear the watch since it was recording the data, even though only halve screen. Today, I plugged the watch to charge. It got very hot with a burning smell. This is the second watch in four years. I am questioning the quality of Fitbit watches. Fitbit should offer at least two years of guarantee considering the cost of them.

It's going to sound silly but I've had my Alta for around 3 years now (it was given as a gift) and this has just happened to me... It last synced with my phone 15 minutes before I noticed it wasn't working. The screen doesn't light up when tapped or tilted, I've tried to charge it with 2 different plugs and 2 different cables as well as using the USB port on my laptop but it doesn't register that it's on charge, other than the device becoming really hot that is. Is it silly of me to think this can be fixed?

I have just found this thread. I absolutely love my Fitbit Alta and i prefer it over some of the new fit bits that are available, unfortunately it has died. Every time I plug it in and do the three button click on the charger it comes back on for about 10 minutes but then gets really hot and dies again. I don’t know what to do because I can’t seem to find them anywhere online To buy again!
