I jut bought the Fitbit Alta HR and it didn’t show anything on screen, charged it full then managed to get the number for connecting it to the app. After that it is still completely black nothing is shown on screen

I had a similar problem and connected my Alta Fitbit to my computer and pressed the reset button on the Fitbit cord, holding it for 15 seconds.  Hope this helps.
