Fitbit Update: 3/6/19
Hello everyone!
We have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for all of you on Android Pie (9.0) to try.
First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.
Then, disable battery limitations:
Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for all your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Our team is still working on implementing a longterm fix for syncing with Android devices on Pie (9.0).
For the background syncing issue, I have posted an update in the other floated thread which you can find here.
We released Fitbit for Android version 2.80 today which contains improvements for that syncing issue.
I'll make sure to keep you all updated with more information, as soon as I have it available. We're still working on this and I really appreciate everyone's patience.

Fitbit Update: 9/10/18
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for your patience while our team continues to work on improving syncing for those on Android Pie (9.0). They are actively working on this and for the time being, I recommend you keep the Fitbit app updated on the latest version for best syncing results. Right now that is version 2.78, so if you're not on this version please update! Also, another troubleshoot we recommend is performing a restart on your phone.
When there are more improvements made in the future I'll announce them here. Stay tuned and subscribed to this thread.
Fitbit Update: 8/19/18
We have escalated these syncing issues for those who are now using Android Pie (9.0) to our team for investigation. There aren't any updates at the moment, but rest assured we will keep you informed in this thread when more information is available.
Thanks for your patience!

In the meantime, please update the Fitbit app to version 2.76.1 if you haven't yet. Let me know if that changes the syncing behavior. Please follow this thread for updates. I'll keep you all posted here!

So far since the update a few days ago to Google Connectivity Services and the update to the FitBit app my Pixel 2 XL and One are syncing perfectly. I was planning on getting the Versa when this whole issue was resolved and, from the sounds of it, most people with a similar device setup are having no issues. I guess I'll wait to see how the next couple of days go and then buy a new Versa on Black Friday.

Manual sync started working yesterday. All day sync has continued to work into today.
Finally back to normal.

Try this:
- Uninstall Fitbit App
- Pair Versa via Bluetooth if not already paired
- Delete Versa from the Bluetooth settings
- Reinstall Fitbit App and sync
- Confirm the "link to Versa" request in Fitbit app
This workaround somebody posted in this thread somewhere, I can't find it anymore. On my Oneplus 6 the Versa syncs since 2-3 weeks now.

Hello everyone!
Thank you all very much for posting your experience with the new version.
Please do know that I asked others to confirm because some users did mention that version 2.83 has helped them and I wanted to get more information from other users too.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Using version 2.83 and a One Plus 6. Sync works fine, but the notification hasn't been working since i updated to Pie. Are the notifications being worked on alongside the sync problems?

I finally have managed to recover syncing with the latest version of app but required some step to get a solution. the root cause (at least for me) was that the permission of location service wasn't given for app but it was noticed only when the storage was cleaned up. (and as many of you saw, this worked before. so this is really unexpected thing and I was never warned about it at all)
If you don't give the permission of the location service to app, that may be worth trying to enable the permission if you don't have.
To Fitbit developers, app should knows what are required to get things working. but the error messages are quite unkind. there should be more improvement around it.
Hope that helps.

Looks like the last update to the Fitbit app has fixed the problem. 24 hours and still syncing.

Hey everyone.
We truly appreciate your updates and experiences on the matter.
I doesn't seem to be working for everyone but some users have indeed mentioned that the new version helps.
If you have the time, try setting your Fitbit up as if it was a brand new device after updating to 2.83. Perhaps it will help. I know that you have tried this and other steps multiple times but it is worth a try considering the multiple users that have had success.
Thanks for your patience.

I used the chat service to contact fitbit and they were awesome, step by step got me up and running after my issues. I had to unpair my car and reinstall in a specific sequence.
