Fitbit Update 04/24/2017: Hi everyone -- Our Android team appreciates everyone's feedback in this thread and are working to fully implement the new Android Dashboard in the upcoming 2.48 release.

I am closing this thread as all feedback has been captured and reviewed by our team. Thanks again for all of your constructive feedback as we continue to improve Fitbit products and services.

Fitbit Update 10/04/2016: Hello Android Community! Some of you may have took notice that your Fitbit app has updated and you now have the option to view the new Android Dashboard (see screenshot below).

andrrroiiiidd.pngThe new Dashboard design for Android is currently only available to our external closed beta group. We currently have the beta group closed, but some of you old school Fitbit beta users, were able to get in before we closed the group to the public.

For those of you in the beta, feel free to share your feedback so I can pass it along. I will have a more concrete timeline of official release to share with everyone when I get a confirmed date. We're taking our time to make sure the features are all working up-to-par. Thank you in advance for the feedback!

Just so you know, when I go to Account, there is no choice to set up a
device. so you lose me there.

Christmas is really underlining how hopeless the weight tile is. It doesn't say I've gained, as planned at this time of year, just none lost.

What a useless tool that is, people should know they've gained. Please don't let it be that someone decided we are delicate snowflakes who can't face reality!

I used to like seeing the weight gained gradually drift back down in Jan, this is stupid.

Been using the beta version for a while. I like the direction but there are a couple of issues - I tried to read through a lot of this thread but may have missed them being mentioned. The biigest one for me is that the weight always seems to show today's value.  As several have said, I do miss the gained/lost functionality.  I think some have mentioned that not being able to just swipe the page is a pain.

Since it is a beta and I can change back to the old one I can wait.  I know these things take time, but they are important.

Erik I seem to remember recommending not bothering to feedback and was I wrong?

The weight thing is messed up! You should be able to enter your current weight, and target weight, then put in the weight changes manually once a week. or just list a goal, in pounds to lose (or gain!) then put in changes manually in pounds weekly, so you can track that. But I found when it put in my target weight, it calculated calories differently. Then I tried correcting by putting in my current weight, and now it says I've gained weight! Cannot change that...all messed up!

I like the new design, but I can't find the alarm feature. I cant reset my alarm. How do I go back to the old design?

Easy (when you know how!)  Go to AccouSmiley Happynt (see little pics across the bottom), advanced setting and it is on the top of the list.

OR to set an alarm on the new dashboard, hit the plus sign at the bottom left and select set alarm.

I am sorry. I have had a really good look at the new layout and have played with editing to suit my needs but it still does not work for me. The current layout gives me more information without having to scroll down. I much prefer the "list" style of layout for viewing on my phone screen even though not a large screen. The new layout perhaps more suitable for tablets or visit large screens. Not something for carrying when exercising!

Hello. I am very disappointed in the new dashboard. Too white and bright. Boring colors.. The weekly stats I get, no longer tells me my calories in vs calories burned. Did I break even? Did I eat too much? Don't know anymore. Why do I care how many flights of stairs I climbed in a week? Or what my average burn is? I need to know if I ate more than I burned. Plain and simple. I've had my Fitbit since 2010. I am getting more disappointed in it, the longer I have it!!  And I've worn it everyday for 6 yrs!!!! Hope you add that back. It would fit nicely in the spot where it says ave. hrs with 250+ steps.. Don't need that. 🙂 Thanks!

I must have been part of the beta group because i was using the new dashboard on my old phone. However, since upgrading my phone a few days ago, I no longer have, nor can I figure out how to get back the new dashboard on my current profile.  I enjoyed it so much so going back isn't working for me! Can you help me get the new dashboard back or will i now be required to wait? Thank-you,

Sincerely,  CJ

@markce

It looks as though you're right.

I had low expectations given that I had IOS and changed phone partly because of the Fitbit new dashboard. I knew it would come to Android but hoped that they might have listened to the feedback and made some tweaks by then, sadly not.

I don't care if I have to keep the new one even though I prefer the old, I just want the functions back. I've gone from living and dying by my app/device to scarcely caring. Tryng to track cals in/out and weight is spectatcularly frustrating for those of us who use historic data rather than just a current running commentary. It seems to have gone away from trying to help those who use it for weight control, odd given the growing obesity issues and the potential for increasing sales in that group.

Can I remind people - I know, for what it's worth - to post in the feature suggestion thread. Apparently they really listen in there. Woman Tongue

G'day,

I have already piped in a few pages back, so don't want to repeat myself except to say I still prefer the original.

I did see a new error that scares me. It's the error stating my phone isn't compatible with Google services. The added code that does nothing to improve the app, or the usability, or any functions whatsoever.

It's the code Google like apps to include so Google can stick their noses in and track us. It's the code that isn't included in non Google Android marketplaces such as Amazon, and the same apps run the same and maybe better that the apps with Google services.

It's the code us BlackBerry users have trouble with as BlackBerry won't allow such codes to run as the drop in security would open the doors to malware.

That wasn't my main reason for commenting...

I read that some want better ways of inputing and reporting of calories in Fitbit.

I use MyFitnessPal for recording what I eat, drink or snack on and it updates Fitbit automatically. Granted, it doesn't give Fitbit the details, just the totals for each meal types, but it's sufficient for tracking purposes. And if at anytime you want the details, they are stored in MyFitnessPal as they were input originally. And for us Aussies, it has a good variety of Aussie foods too. It even allows scanning of barcodes. I have found a couple items that had different levels of ingredients than the packaging, but they are easy to edit using the online full site rather than the mobile version.

Gone from a Blaze to Ionic, and I'm happy so far, although I wish I could remove the apps I won't use.Hooked up to my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, but I wish I was still using my my BlackBerry Passport as that's a much better phone.

How do i go back to the old dashboard, I hate the new one. I cannot see water, which is a huge part of my regimen. This new dahsboard is too busy and franlkly feels forced. I would like ot pick and choose what I see, we are all tracking different things as a priority, this dashboard takes that away.

Best Answer
You can move the icons around to arrange your priorities near the top and move the others towards the bottom.

Unfortunately tiles can only be moved within the upper or lower field, you can't move them out of one field into the other.

I cannot read my Blaze when running due to the text size as I use reading glasses. The old app has larger text  to see my progress which is great. I have no issue with the way it is presented in the new app, but is it possible to remove tiles and make the text larger ?
