What I have done, after getting screwed over by updates several times, is turn off automatic updates in my Play Store settings. Every night I have a few updates show up in my notifications. I go look at the details and let everything update, except for any Fitbit app updates. I don't run those updates until after I have checked here to see what kinds of problems they caused. If no real complaints after a few days, I let the update run. I also keep a copy of a  known good, older version of the app on my phone. If I do have problems with a new update, I delete it and install the one saved on my phone so I am going back to a known good version..... In fact, I'm running an old version right now!! 😉

I believe this all started when we received the security update for android... can someone please look into the June android security patch maybe it affected bluetooth connections in some way. im already looking into buying from another company.

Avoid high blood pressure - fair enough! So silly that these things that we
get to help us be healthier wind up in situations like this.

In good news, it's fixed for me at least! Not sure what changed - maybe the
update just took a while to work?? Lost a few days of hrv, but no big deal.
Hope everyone else has it resolved soon!

I think it's a server setting - possibly in preparation to serve the app update, as my Android pre-update Fitbit stopped syncing after June 12.

To follow up:  Today, I checked my non-syncing Fitbit during my walk and found it to be syncing!  In fact, it was properly tracking my steps in progress.  Then, as I watched and continued walking, it stopped.  Then it started again, incrementing steps in real time.  This is not uncommon in that location, as cell tower coverage is sub-optimal there.  HOWEVER:

It hasn't synced since then.  Hard boot, force stop Fitbit, cycle Bluetooth & scan - no joy.  It sometimes sees the Flex 2, but pairing is manual, no pairing confirmation appears and the "Unable to pair..." message returns.

AND now it just synced - partly.  Fibit captured steps, miles and calories - no minutes, and didn't adjust daily calorie budget.  In fact, it simply reports 16 calories every fifteen minutes - even though nine or ten of those fifteen-minute segments should be reporting 6-8 calories per minute.

The cloud is angry.  Please calm it down.

My android says it's up to date. It's on android 9. There are no updates available for Fitbit yet. Should I expect it soon?

Morning everyone, so last night I uninstalled the Fitbit app, restarted my phone (s21 running Android 11), reinstated the app (fully updated), logged in & this morning it's showing full metrics & syncing normally. 🤞it stays this way!

The new update did not change anything for me 😭. My fitbit won't sync. It hasn't in 5 days. I'm ready to throw it out the window. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times. I've reset it on the charger, and I have made sure my phone is up to date. I'm so frustrated. I have unpaired and repaired. What next???????
