ECG app disappeared from Google Pixel Watch 3

ANSWERED

After updating to version 4.42.1, ECG history is empty or a blank screen. ECGs taken on watch cannot be viewed now.

So after months the ECG download function finally worked again (see: Solved: Re: Charge 6 won't download ECG PDF - Page 6 - Fitbit Community), and now it is broken again. Please solve this asap @AndreaFitbit. As we do not want to wait for this again for over half a year.

because the "new version" bricks the ECG functionality I would love to downgrade the APP to the old version.
Any suggestions ?

Hi Lizzy:

  • Fitbit app 4.42.1, updated May 2, 2025 running on Pixel 8 Pro with Android 15
  • Located in Canada
  • No error messages - Google watch 2 seems to take the ECG as it has in the past.
  • on the FitBit app under the You tab, Health Assessments section there is no longer an ECG section, only "Irregular rhythm notifications", "High heart rate notifications notifications" and "Low heart rate notifications" (so no ability to request an ECG report pdf)
  • Last successful download of a "Heart rhythm assessment" was on April 18 (none since attempted until today when an ECG was flagged as AFib on my Pixel watch 2, when found theCurrent Fitbit app detailsCurrent Fitbit app details option missing in my Fitbit app).

It does NOT look like a bug to me!
I have downgraded to various older Fitbit versions via xxx.mirror and the ECG (ECG) function is switched off in all versions.
I think the function was simply deleted on the server.
Which I personally find a huge mess

Hello @LizzyFitbit

I'm in the USA & have the Pixel 8 phone, Android 15, and Pixel Watch 3.

I'm able to install the ECG tile on my watch and take an ECG reading. However, as other have mentioned, the ECG "tile" in the Fitbit app, version 4.42.1, is missing. There's no way to see the readings that I took today or any of my past readings.

I have complained in the Playstore about the feature being disabled.
Got immediate feedback but I'm afraid this is a chat bot.
It may help if a lot of users make themselves known there with negative reviews.
@LizzyFitbit @AndreaFitbit
It's not a bug in the app the requests for screen shots or similar are misleading

No Fitbit ECG tile on Fitbit app under Health assessments with Pixel Watch 2. It was there several days ago and disappeared after the lastest app update.

I have been using the ECG sharing capaility for the last year. I am in constant Afib and have been sending ECG pdfs to my cardioloist weekly for a year. I have reinstalled app on Pixel watch 2 as well as on my Android phone running Android 14. I suspect an Fitbit app update issue. Anyone else having this problem? I did a Chat with Google support and tried everything suggested to no avail.

Hi, @ChasmanG, welcome. I recommend you follow this precise process -  follow these steps to delete the Fitbit app & reinstall it. The belt & braces procedure is as follows. Manually sync your Fitbit app as described above (if you can). Go to your phone settings>apps>Fitbit app>force stop>clear storage>uninstall>go to your phone connected devices & "forget" your Inspire 3>NOW RESTART YOUR PHONE. Go to the Play Store & reinstall the Fitbit app, log in with your Google account, and set your PW2 up again in the Fitbit app.

I hope this helps, please post here again & let us know how you get on.

Cheers

No luck. Problem still persists. My opinion is that it is a software issue with the last Fitbit app update on May 9, 2025

Hello @ChasmanG

There is currently an issue with the ECG feature in the Fitbit app. I'm using the Pixel Watch 3, and like you, I no longer see the ECG tile in the Fitbit app.

Please see this thread on the topic (<-- click link) where the Moderator asked for additional information that will be forwarded to the team investigating the problem. You may want to post/follow that thread as the Moderator will likely post updates there.
