Hi everyone. We’re aware of an issue that may cause the Fitbit app to quit unexpectedly when you open the Exercise tile.

To fix an issue where the Fitbit app unexpectedly crashes when you open the Exercise tile, follow these steps. Note you’ll need to log back into the Fitbit app with your email address and password.

  1. On your phone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage.
  3. Tap Clear Data.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and log in.
  5. Be sure to accept the requests for your phone to access your location, notifications, and other settings.

Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. I assure you that our team is aware and working on finding a resolution. I will be sure to keep you all updated as more information becomes available.

Hello,

this issue was affecting me as well. I followed the recommended steps and I can now open the exercise section but the individual workouts do not load.

Thank you.

I agree!! My battery has been dead for most of the day even though I charged the Fitbit.
Thank you for your response.

Then it will stop. We shouldn’t have to do all this for so long.

It works for a 1 day or 2 but then it quits.   My hasn’t sync in 3 days. I have done everything except delete my data. I shouldn’t have to delete all my data to get my info.

It is 8:00pm cst and has not returned to normal. Plus there is no way to follow the steps noted before on my iPhone 8. I don’t have a “storage” option.  Also it continuously tries to sync and cannot complete it.  What do I do to fix it?

Hi! Any update on this? Still crashing... don't want to lose my data and saved settings so haven't tried clearing data, but I've read that the users who have done so also had no luck in getting it to work...

Click on your icon in the top right hand corner then my subscriptions. Delete any subscriptions.

I too am turning them off. People are just posting the same question over and over rather than reading the replies.

Deleting storage and data on your phone will not delete any of your actual
fitbit information such as steps, heart rate, sleep, exercise, etc. It just
deletes what your phone has stored such as your login and other things that
mean nothing to you as a user.
All your logs and data are stored on the fitbit servers, online basically.
So no deleting the storage data on your phone for the app won't lose
anything. You'll just have to login again.

Kinda like if you change phones, once you login all your data from your old
phone appears as it isn't stored on the phone, but on fitbit itself.

Thanks! Actually did it a few minutes ago (figured the data should be
stored) and it worked. 🙂

Hi,

When I click "clear data" as advised below, I get a message saying "All of this application's data will be deleted permanently. This includes all files, settings, accounts, databases etc".

Is that right? Will I lose all my previous information, exercise logs, lifetime miles etc etc?
