Update 5/1/20: This issue has been resolved with the release of 3.19.2. Please update your app if you haven't already.
Hi everyone. We’re aware of an issue that may cause the Fitbit app to quit unexpectedly when you open the Exercise tile.
To fix an issue where the Fitbit app unexpectedly crashes when you open the Exercise tile, follow these steps. Note you’ll need to log back into the Fitbit app with your email address and password.
- On your phone, open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage.
- Tap Clear Data.
- Open the Fitbit app and log in.
- Be sure to accept the requests for your phone to access your location, notifications, and other settings.
Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. I assure you that our team is aware and working on finding a resolution. I will be sure to keep you all updated as more information becomes available.

disappeared. Otherwise, I don't know how to fix it. I had this problem on
the Pacer App and my hubby deleted the App, but not my acct. Then he
reloaded it, and I got everything back...including the data from the 2 days
or so I couldn't get on it at all. So that might be a good try for Fitbit
as well. Good luck!

My husband bought me a Fitbit Versa at Macy’s and neither of us are sure how long ago that was. Right now, even after cleaning the batter contact points and putting it back on the charger it remains “dead”. I can’t get anything up on the screen.
Prior to this it was stuck on an exercise and would not let me log off or more back to the main screen it was like it was frozen.

I can get all the data except from the exercise tile - it tries and then says it 'keeps stopping'. I have cleared the cache and turned off bluetooth and re-started my phone several times. Still the same is happening. If i clear the data will i lose everything? Any other suggestions welcome. Carole

Ditto! I was looking for a solution for iPhone users, but there does not appear to be one. Good luck!

This fix doesn't work because my device is completely dead. It started happening on Friday (4/24) and then yesterday it just completely died. I tried the other suggestions on other boards to reset my device, but to no avail. So now my phone doesn't even recognize the device.

I’ve tried your suggestion but my Alta won’t work. Only while it’s on the charger. Another suggestion?

Does clearing the data also clear all your Fitbit data ? Food logs/exercise/weight etc ?

I have a fix on my Android phone and it works with no loss of previous data! Messaged Fitbit on Facebook and got this reply:
Hi, everyone. We appreciate your efforts to fix the app crash you're experiencing when accessing the exercise section. We're aware of this issue and we're currently looking into so that it can be addressed accordingly. For the meantime, many users have been able to fix the issue with these steps:
1. Sync your Fitbit manually: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1877#manual.
2. Open the Settings app on your phone.
3. Tap on Apps.
4. Tap on Fitbit.
5. Tap on Storage.
6. Tap on Clear Data.
7. Reboot your phone.
8. Open the Fitbit app and log back in. Don't forget to set your location service settings as well.
Our apologies for the hassle caused and thanks for your patience. Let us know if you have further questions or concerns.
