Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/23

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

I just wanted you to know that.

The other day, I opened my Fitbit app to find a big red App Redesign Beta button at the top of my screen.  I clicked it not knowing what I was getting myself into.

After playing with the new version for three days, I was unable to figure out how to change things to my liking.  For instance, I want my steps, floors, calories, etc. on the top with the other information, i.e. heart rate, water intake, etc. below.  Apparently, you cannot move it to the top.  In addition, there are options I have no interest in seeing like the steps per hour or food intake.  Apparently, there is no way to hide those things.  You can move them to the bottom of the list but, because the user is forced to have those things at the top of the screen instead of steps, etc.,  they are still visible and, in my case, in the way.

I came here today to look for information on how to do these things but I was unable to locate ANY information on the Redesigned Beta version.  I then went to Google and, you guessed it, ZERO information.  I logged into my dashboard and rearranged the tiles there to see if they would somehow sync with app.  Nothing.

It’s like I’m the only one in the universe that had that version.

If you guys are going to put out a beta version, it would be nice if you also released information on how to use it, or ever, you know, that it EXISTS!!!!

I finally completely uninstalled the app from my phone and then reinstalled it.  I was able to get the non-redesigned version back but now that big red button is at the top of my screen again that I can’t get rid of.  I will not be clicking that button again!!!!

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, and I was offered a survey on the community when I was done here but when I tried to submit it, I got a failure notice. Imagine that.

Please how do I speed the process of getting an invitation. Excited about this and can't wait to experience and share my thoughts. I hope this is coming with a dark theme too.

@Dragainin I moved your post here to keep feedback in one place. Thanks for this early feedback, it looks like you were one of the first to get the invitation. Please check out this help article for assistance on how to navigate the dashboard.

@Kenzibit great to hear your enthusiasm. Right now the invitation is going out to a small random amount of users, but the net will be widening soon. Please keep an eye out for it.

I understand and thanks for the reply. But under what conditions do you select those first small testers? Want to know so that I get in early the next time. I love testing stuff.😊

@Dragainin not to dismiss all of your criticism but you can do all of the things you describe in the redesign just fine...

I have updated to the current dashboard. However, I am unable to find my step counter and stair tracker. Please help.

Actually, no I can't.  I finally located this article.  Here is the problem:

I am able to rearrange Today Items but not hide any of them like I would like to and like the non-beta version allows. I am able to hide Activity Items but I don't want to. The Today Items wouldn't be an issue if the Activity Items were on the top of the screen as the article states it should be but they are not.  No matter what I do, they remain on the bottom.

I really like the new look. The one thing I miss the most is the ability to share my steps for the day with my accountability partner by text. I could do a screen shot but it used to be a lot easier.

I didn't opt into anything it just changed! I want the old dash board back!!!!! I didn't update a thing. I didn't select anything to change or update my app it was automatic! I'm so frustrated with this change!!!

That's how mine was too. And I am part of a group that uses the green dot to show its fully synced and now that's gone. I dont like this

It's stupid too but I'm very pregnant and hormonal and can't stop crying over this.

And from what I read this can't be undone.

I am also having this issue since my Fitbit app updated yesterday. Would love to add my daily steps/stair count to my "Today" screen and would appreciate some guidance!

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it stayed with the new version. I didn't have that red button you talked about. Mine just updated without me opting into anything! Did you do anything specific to get it to go back when you reinstalled it?

Is the summary page coming back?  It was a perfect one stop shop.  It was perfect for my needs.  I want to see total steps, heartrate, active minutes, and sleep on the same screen.  Then do a deeper dive if I want from that screen.

I'm sure the go getters will like the new features, but fat and lazy here just wants to keep it simple

I didnt update/choose anything...

Now i have a dashboard thats pretty useless...

Yeah i can do female health, steps per hour,  water intake,  foid intake but can no longer see steps, active minuites or cals burnt... rendering the app next to useless......

The new app is not showing my macronutrients.  I also can't see the graphs for past days.  As a pre diabetic it is important for me to see my carbs.  Also the new program just showed up as a required update not optional.
