Fitbit Update: 8/15
Hey all!
This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.
A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.
Fitbit Update: 8/6
Hey everyone!
Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.
We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 6/17
Hi Fitbit Family,
We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.
Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 5/23
Hi everyone!
We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.
Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!
Fitbit Update: 4/24
Hi everyone!
Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.
You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?
As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.
We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

As was said in a post yesterday, if we were to post where you get older versions from the post is likely to be moderated. A quick web search will provide answers though.
You do need to be cautious when downloading android apps from random websites, since some will contain malware. I'd suggest the site whose name combines the three letter acronym for an Android PacKage (the site software will prevent me posting that acronym) plus "mirror" as a safe source.

I really hate the new dashboard design and after being told that it is my only choice for FitBit, I've decided to shop around to see if any other brand has a dashboard similar to what FitBit HAD. We should have an option of which dashboard design we want. This one loses hands down.

I feel the same way. I like the old design better. I like seeing the glasses. I like the dancing man when I meet my steps. I prefer the bigger half circle showing my progress. FitBit doesn't care. We got what we got.

I agree. I want the bigger icons back as well.

Stepped through all the steps. Just do not like the new app.

If you liked the old app search a pkmirror fitbit then replace the 'new' fitbit app with a previous version. Mine is 2.87. Really pleased to have the original version back - it also eliminated a GPS problem so now I can record runs and rides and view in maps under exercise tile. If you connect Strava to your fitbit by installing the Strava app, you get way better stats on any recorded run/ ride automatically in the Strava app.
Nothing special about the performance...but it's great to have the old app back. Note - the Fitbit and Strava runs are the same event.

There was a lot I liked about the old app. I liked the colors better, the readability even while exercising (I could read it while jogging, though I couldn't read my wrist without breaking pace), the amount of info all one screen without needing to scroll down, the small but very motivational little touches like the circles turning green and tossing confetti for a second after meeting a goal like 5-day exercise. There were innumerable times I'd be getting ready to go to bed, realize I hadn't quite finished out my goals for the day, and take a brief walk largely motivated by the confetti and happy green display.
I especially liked the fact that it WORKED, however, unlike the new app which totally refused to recognize my Versa even existed and wouldn't sync. 10-12 hours of troubleshooting with Fitbit later, their only 'solutions' were for me to patiently wait for the next version of the app to come out and see if it worked better, or to buy a new Fitbit to see if it worked better (though mine is only a few months old?!), or to upgrade my phone. Those are not 'solutions' to a problem caused *specifically by the new update.* It was also frustrating to have rep after rep responding as if I were the only one having problems, despite numerous similar reports on this board.
To then double down on the issue by telling people they can't revert to an earlier app version and smacking down posts telling people how to revert is NOT in Fitbit's best interests. It should be obvious that it'd be a better business choice to have some users with an older app version than having hundreds if not thousands stop being users because our $200+ devices can't sync anymore, making them basically very expensive pedometers.

@toddsdonald your not making much sense, saying that the new dashboard is bad because it only has vertical mode. Ah, the old dashboard also only has vertical mode.
For Horizontal mode one needs to roll back 4 dashboard changes.

Our curiosity download track and load it in basecamp and let us know whether distance is still 4.12 miles.
I'd be very interested.

I am pretty sure I did not opt in to get a new dashboard. I updated it and still had the old dashboard for few hours then went to check steps etc and it has all changed.
And what has disappeared is the ability to set up alarms, turn on or off from the dashboard. On old one when you scrolled up you get a pop up with all those options to log water, set alarms and all that other stuff.
Now I am unable to do that from the main screen but go into settings, click on my Fitbit watch symbol and scroll all the way down to find the silent alarm and set it up or turn on etc. This is a lot of faffing about for a deaf person that needs alarms to wake up every other mornings and alarm reminder set to remind me to leave for a appointment I may have.
I am not impressed at all.
Hopefully the ability to do alarms will be at dashboard at next update.
I certainly do not like the new look at all as it doesn't have a nice green meter circle to see exactly if you're half way or close to meeting your goal as a motivation.
Gutting really.
And my notifications still shows sender whenever I get a text, not sender AND message even though it is set to show both and notification is set to on on the app and on the watch.
Very disappointing really. Absolute fail
