Just yesterday my phone stopped syncing with the Fitbit. I tried logging out if my account and logging back in. I can see the steps taken on my device (Alta) but not on my phone. It is a new replacement phone. I downloaded the Fitbit app and everything worked for a day. Now I get the message 'no device found'. ??????

To anyone still following:
Last week when I had the device not found problem, I tried going into airplane mode instead of shutting off bluetooth. Data and then the phone. When I turned off airplane mode, it worked. Had to do it again the next day.
Now for the real kicker. I have not had a problem with the connectivity for 4 days. It's been working fine. Slower than it used to be, but working.
The bad news for Fitbit: it took too long. My new unit from another company is on it's way. They may have fixed the problem I've been having since May, but I'm done. Good luck to the rest of you.

I spoke too soon! Today, the device not found popped up again. My new device gets here Wednesday, so since I have to reset everything, might as well wait. Also, why do they put updates on the play store , but dont push to current users all the time! It was after downloading an update I happened upon on the play store that I started having problems. I have NEVER gotten a notification that any updates were available.

I can't tell you how often I get this message. Every time I try and manually sync, it doesn't work and I get this message. How long has Fitbit been on the market? It's getting really annoying. WHEN it does sync (auto), everything gets updated except my sleep stats. That's the primary reason I bought the watch! My phone gets updated correctly, but the watch display shows 2 days ago stats. Urgh.

I had the same problem since September 15th. Your suggestion of switching to airplane mode and switching back worked for me last night and solved my previous day's activity problem.
I too am disappointed with the Fitbit app. since this the second problem with the app (first time in August) I had. If it continues to be buggy I may look at competing watches on the next watch I get. I have had my Surge for 3.5 years without any app problems until this year.

The Fitbit UI leaves a lot to be desired. And that's when it's working properly!

And how often must we do this? Until the next time it can't find the device? The joys of lack of regression testing by the developers and testers! Isn't the internet age wonderful? 😉

I spoke too soon, I guess. Went to check my stats this morning and bam, "device not found". Wasn't convienent to screw around so just shut the app down and moved on. A couple of hours later, the stats were updated!
C'mon. Slow is just as bad as not working.
Cant wait till the new device arrives. It was cheep, but want something that works. I'll see.

I do sometimes notice that my interface changes when I don't download anything, but if I look on the app store, there is an update available. I'm not about to do that again! doing that started the whole problem.

"You spent hours talking to support because FIT BIT versa is the worse watch ever. I've owned this $200.00 piece of junk for over a years now and it has never ever synced it's information properly, it's a random syncing watch..you can do all their fancy suggestions and you still won't get the watch to sync everyday. "
Wow! Sounds like mine. Next thing to try is throwing off a very high cliff. 🙂

my wife just bought me a cheep watch off a tv shopping network. about $50. I'm gonna see what that does as I save for a Samsung that will do much more. Fitbit used to be so good too! but now it's just about making more money! they just added some paid extras into the app, which was pushed to me, but I still see that on the play store there is an update! I'll be **ahem**ed if I download it. that's where I got into trouble back in may!
And I see no more help from any Fitbit support on here lately. doing all their suggestions didn't help, including just resetting the Fitbit and uninstalling the app and all data and cache

Even doing everything that dosent help. Not good support. Was obviously a problem with the update, and they refused to roll back.
