Incorrect steps in Android app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This is an issue I've had with multiple fitbits (Alta and Alta HR), the app (on Android) incorrectly shows an extremely large number of steps when it first syncs. Eventually it updates to the right number. The home screen widget is correct and the website is always correct, it's just the app that's wrong. When I say large number of steps, I'm talking like 70-80k steps. On an average day I get about 8k steps.  When I go in to see a breakdown of steps by hour it's right too, it's just the main dashboard that's wrong. I've cleared the app data and even uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app but the issue continues.

Here are a couple of videos showing the issue- https://photos.app.goo.gl/fDVDQ6ujXLCDPQr49
