The Pixel 3 is imminent. Is the Versa compatible with it?

Pixel3 with Versa (original). I've currently got it at the stage where fitbit syncs with the pixel, and location tracking works. However music controls usually do not work. It may show the phone connected, but not any music playing. Bluetooth on the phone does show the Classic bluetooth connection "connected" which is what is required for Music Control.

Ok, based on my own experience with a Ionic paired to a pixel 3 XL I think it's fair to say there are some issues. My son has the 3,non XL, so I've been able to text on 2 Pixel 3's.
This is what I have found after trying every fix listed on here and other sites.
Syncing works reasonably ok for me.
Notifications however are horribly hit and miss.
Gmail, nope, cannot get notifications at all.
Calender, same as above.
Calls notify fine.
Crucially, text messages are completely hit and miss. The longest I've had the ionic reliably report all text messages for is under a day. It reports them on a seemingly random basis. All the work arounds etc might work for a few hours then it goes back to square one.
It's good to hear some people have no problems when paired with the Pixel 3 but I think it is safe to say that it is as much down to luck as as anything else.
It's the unreliable text alerts that really kill it for me. It's a huge annoyance.
It's a genuine shame as there are many features I like about the watch but reliable text alerts are a crucial and basic aspect of any smart watch in my opinion.

I think I have my Pixel3XL working pretty consistently now. To get it that way I believe I :
- Mobile Device: Uninstalled the Fitbit App from my device.
- Mobile Device: Removed (ie forget) the two bluetooth connections to the fitbit that are saved.
- Mobile Device: Reboot
- Mobile device: Reinstalled the Fitbit app and set it up as normal.
- Fitibit/Mobile device: Setup bluetooth classic for media control: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1976
- Mobile device: Allow Whatsapp Messages in the notifications:
Usage Nuance:
- When using the fitbit music controls, sometimes the Versa will show that it's not connected to the phone for music UNTIL the next track on the phone starts playing. Seems like when a new track starts it checks or recreates the connection. Weird, but workable.

So, I've hit a Pixel glitch. The Pixel 3 is on the works with list, but the Pixel 3a (a 3 with a slower processor, cheaper glass, and case) is not.
It does sync correctly, and tracks activity times, resting heart rate for normal activities.
When it comes to biking, it's downhill quickly.
The data is a mess. Speed, not recorded, distance, not recorded. Where It gets weird is it accurately maps where I rode. Heart rate, and calories per minute don't get to the dashboard accurately, but they appear good on the app.
I've been told that the 3A is in beta testing, so it may get resolved. Guess I should be glad I didn't go for the Galaxy S10 (it's a lot more money, and it's not on the list either).

Mine did as well... until it didn't.
Does your Pixel 3 still connect consistently with your Ionic?

Mine has worked with my pixel 3 since I got it in October, until the last month or so, now all of a sudden I don't get notifications and it only syncs half the time.

My Pixel 3 Has also worked fine until recently (and Pixel 2 before I got the 3 when it first came out). All looked OK, but now, phone says it is connected but it cannot sync. Last sync Aug 27.
I was on a trip and forgot my charger, so went dark for a while, but the last sync is after that so seems unlikely to be a factor.

Success!
I followed advice of stubee above and did these steps to re-link my Alta HR to my Pixel 3:
- Mobile Device: Uninstalled the Fitbit App from my device.
- Mobile Device: Removed (ie forget) the saved bluetooth connection to the fitbit.
- Mobile Device: Reboot
- Mobile device: Reinstalled the Fitbit app and set it up as normal.
Alta HR does not have media and if it would text or email me I am not using those notifications.

Here is my history with fitbit charge 3.
I got the fitbit as a gift in dec 2019 and had no issues getting it installed on my iPhone 5C. Starting getting weekly updates and notifications right away and had no issues. Around June my iphone died and I bought a Google Pixel 3a and had no issue in getting the same charge 3 to sync with the 3a and had continued weekly reports for the next 6-8 weeks when the charge 3 started to fail where the display went blank. After conversing with fitbit online and over the phone help they sent me a replacement charge 3 at no cost and didn't need to return the defective unit. After I received the replacement unit I started to have all of the same issues that everyone else seems to have where the pixel 3a sees the charge 3 and tries to sync with it but never connects. I have done everything so many times that fitbit as well as other individuals have suggested with no positive results.
I then contacted fitbit again and after many hours of loading and unloading the app off of the phone, powering down, etc. and doing everything that they asked me to do they decided to send me another charge 3 replacement unit but this time I had to return the initial replacement unit before they would send the second replacement unit. I received it about a week ago and guess what, it doesn't work just like the other unit didn't. I have tried everything as before with the same results.
I am not going to bother with contacting fitbit again about the issue as they clearly have no clue as to how to fix the problem. I plan on just not using it and maybe try every month or so to see if they got their act together with this problem. In the mean time I will fill out their requested response to their survey asking for my opinion which I am sure they are not going to be happy with. Maybe some day they will learn to tell the customer that their product doesn't work with your phone verses making the customer have false hopes and wasting their time.

The basic problem is that the connection data on the charge2 was lost, but, the phone still knew about the connection.
The fix is to delete the device from Fitbit, then delete the device from Bluetooth.
Now you can get the 2 talking again, just take the connection directions from the top.

Ok an update.
After persevering for a few weeks I gave up with ever getting the ionic to work reliably with my pixel 3 XL. The last straw was when the ionic wouldn't even keep the correct time, losing a couple of hours during the course of the day.
Solution? New ionic. It's like night and day. On the old ionic the notifications wouldn't work reliably, nor syncing and eventually even time keeping wasnt reliable.
New ionic "just works".
Syncs, notifications...everything. It works reliably all the time. No constant uninstalling of the app or factory resetting of the watch. Nothing.
I'm utterly delighted with the watch now and just wish the first one had been like this.
A big generalisation but for anyone what has tried "everything" 10x over, and I really had.... it might simply be that you're watch is faulty.
