It's great to see you here @DarthGoat.
I just wanted to let you know that I have moved your post from the Versa board to the Android app board, since I think that here you will be able to see more related topics about the Fitbit app.
About your inquiry, Fitbit is compatible with more than 200 of the most popular Android, iOS and Windows mobile devices.
The full list of compatible devices with confirmed compatibility can be found here. If a device isn’t listed it doesn’t mean it won’t work with a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch. We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit App, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models.
A majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products, however we cannot guarantee optimal performance on devices for which we have not tested and confirmed compatibility.
Let me know if you need anything else. ![]()
"I would like to share with you that Google Pixel 3 is not a compatible device. This is the reason why the tracker is unable to sync with your new mobile device."
That's the answer from Fitbit's help desk.
Evidently no phones running the current version of android (version 9, a.k.a. pi) are able to sync with fitbit trackers.
That is demonstrably false.
My Pixel came last night. My Versa is connected and syncing as of all day today. I've tested on-demand sync, and passive sync (aka just going about my business). All work just fine if not better than my S6.
They must still be testing before officially stating that the device is officially supported.
No, Gema from Fitbit tech support told me verbatim what I posted above. Fitbit does not work with Pixel phones.
I suspect yours synched through another bluetooth device allowing the updated data to be on your screen. But according to Fitbit itself - Fitbit DOES NOT work on the Pixel 3.
I can confirm that my Ionic (big brother to the Versa) syncs just fine with my new Pixel 3 as well.

Hello everyone!
As mentioned above, as long as the minimum requirements are met that is a possibility that the phone will work, as would be the case with the Pixel 3. Having said that we cannot guarantee that they will unless they are posted on the list.
In regards to Android 9, that is a separate issue on to itself that is not necessarily related to the Pixel phones. You can click here to read about the Android 9 situation.
Let me know if there are any further questions.
Great that you are getting it to sync. Do you receive message/call notifications on your Pixel 3 as well?
I had problems with the Versa and very old Moto Droid 2, which IS supported by Versa but for the life of me I couldn't get it to sync regularly. It synced whenever it felt like it BUT I was getting notifications and I was happy with that...until I locked my device and couldn't get it to sync and allow a factory reset. It was the most frustrating thing.
Still, I'm curious if you are getting text/call notifications on your Pixel3. I'm getting one and I'd be glad to try Versa again if it works with Pixel 3.
Of course I get call/text notifications on my Pixel 3. ![]()
But, yes, the notifications from my Pixel 3 are displayed on my Ionic exactly as configured. Quick replies work and I can accept/dismiss calls as well.

I really don't have any doubt that the Pixel 3 is working with Ionic/versa and in fact I've just ordered the XL version (I have to wait 1 month for delivery although).
Currently I'm using a Pixel 2 XL paired with Ionic while my wife uses a Pixel 1 paired with Versa. Both works perfectly with notification and everything.
And, for sake of clarification, both setup are updated to Android 9. In fact I'm not sure why many people are having issues with Pie.
Best AnswerI have the pixel 3 and haven't had compatibility issues so far. Crossing my fingers that I don't have issues in the future. I had the pixel 2 before the versa became compatible with it and it was frustrating. I'm glad to not have those issues currently with my pixel 3.

Welcome to the Forums @Liz_B_.
Thanks for sharing your positive experience in here! Glad to read that everything is working correctly for you. As mentioned before, there is absolutely a possibility that it will work but we can't guarantee it.
If you have the time, perhaps you could visit one of our Discussion boards? Lots of topics to talk about in there. Maybe there is something you'd like to share.
Please reach out if you need any assistance.
Best AnswerI can sync to my pixel 3, but it will NOT get any notifications for text messages. Sometimes it will show an incoming call, but no texts at all. Strange.

Welcome to the Forums @TWDMath. Hello @DarthGoat.
@TWDMath maybe you could try what @DarthGoat mentioned, there is a possibility that it could work. If it didn't however, it would probably be related to the fact that the Pixel 3 is not currently part of the supported devices list.
Maybe you could post about it in our Feature Suggestions board. That way other users could comment and vote on your idea to show their support. Be sure to read the FAQ if you have any questions on how that board works.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Any idea when you guys are going to support the flex on the pixel 3?
I hate to sound impatient, but only being able to sync once every week and a half at a friend's house is a terrible experience.

Hello @AAM_Leeds.
Thanks for your patience!
Unfortunately we do not have any news or updates of when we will be adding that specific device to the list. As soon as there is anything to announce we'll be letting everyone know however I cannot provide some sort of ETA or time frame for when such any updates will come.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
