Potassium measurement option only in grams?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I read thru similar issues posted. My app version is latest. However do not see solution working.

The potassium intake entry  option is not available in mg.

If I enter in grams after conversion, it shows as zero. I need to monitor my potassium intake. Can app provide us with working solution, not just reassurance that we have fixed it, do check it yourself before claiming. I am unable to attach screen shot as I am not finding it easy to do so.

One more thing, app constantly freezes screen ( other apps are working fine), and stops syncing at about 2/3 level ( line represent on screen).

Fixing this issue is highly appreciated as I don't want to use 2 apps for simple food intake entry.

Thanks in advance

Hi there @N_T, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. I was reading your post and I still have no clear where are you experiencing this? Note that to give you an straight answer there is no way to change the default units implemented in the app for food logging.

In this case I wold like to see an screenshot to have a closer look, so for more help in this subject review the following post.

Note that potassium logging is only available if you create a custom food and nutritional facts of a food entry. For food logging purposes and macronutrients information this is not available. So with the screenshot I will know where are you experiencing this issue so we can find a solution.

Regarding the freezing screen, make sure you are running the latest version of the app. For more help  try the steps of the following post. The scenario is completely different on that thread, but the steps I have shared will apply for this issue too.

See you later, I'll be looking forward to your response.

If it is default unit for app, it is wrong. Potassium is micronutrient - mineral . (My Samsung health app has miligram as unit .). If Fitbit is meant for macronutrient recording, then remove option to record micronutrients- instead of giving wrong option.

For 50 ml milk app records 66 gm potassium. For 50 ml milk app records 66 gm potassium.

Hello there @N_T,thank you for sharing the screenshot and my apologies for my absent. I understand your point and I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. Indeed, at the moment there is no option to change the unit from Grams to Milligrams.

Thanks Roberto for your reply. I will post my feedback as suggested by you.

As I understand this "unit" issue is probably a slip of checking /testing app or probably developer is not aware of importance of unit in case of micronutrients.

It is not what I "need or want", (worst part is that if I record it in grams after conversion, it shows zero value in nutrition facts after rounding it up) . So it is more about "right/ wrong" feature. Potassium plays very important part in electrolyte balance and higher levels of Potassium can prove fatal. So if option is given at all, it need to be "right".

I don't understand why it can not be fixed? I mean if it is coming from "fitbit" why it is wrong in the first place?

I read in some post on this platform where a moderator replied to this issue (broght to notice by some other users) by mentioning that it has been already fixed, unfortunately I am unable to locate that thread as of now.

Though I continue to record my food intake on this app, I have my doubts about it being right in other aspects as well, so I am relying on my other Samsung health app for accuracy. It is double work for me. I hope fitbit takes such issues seriously.
