Fitbit Update: 8/23/18

Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update: 8/21/18

Hi, Everybody!

Today, we started releasing the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. Please check the Google Play store on your phone to see if the update is available to you. We roll out Android updates progressively, so if you don't see it available to you right now it will be there soon.

Fitbit Update 8/16/18:

Hi everyone - The fix for this issue will be out in our next app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks.

We will provide an update in this thread once it has been released. Thanks again for all your patience and cooperation.

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

@Hannekalew Hi and Welcome - with Ref to the calls you may have to set phone and App notifications for them to work - Try the processes in my long posting on the following link to see if that helps (Timestamped 14-08-2018 06:16)

Hi. That's a bit off. Not very helpful. I'd be looking now for a tracker that was compatable with my S9 x

Hey mine just started working out of nowhere this morning!

Heart rate still not working.  Just wondering when this might be resolved?

Best Answer

First of all, it hasn't been "months". Secondly, what did all you whiners do before there were any fitness trackers? If you really feel you have to check your steps every two seconds, install the 2.74.2 version like other people have done. That will hold you until the issue is fixed and you won't have to cry anymore.

First of all, I wasn't crying. I sent 1 message to a moderator for an update. Now, I agree with you as far as all of the ridiculous complaining. When you sync the app, all of the stats fill in so there is no need for an uproar. I'm certain they will fix the issue as soon as they can. In the future, post to the people who deserve your sentiment not those of us who were just curious for an update.

Mine too for 3 minutes. Now back to 0 steps.

I'm not sure about the total steps, but the hourly 250 is all whacked out. Accurate for all time except for 5, 4, and 3 days ago, showing 0 of 10, and before that fine and yesterday and 2 days ago fine...

Thanks for sorting it out!

I think it is absolutely unacceptable the issue has not been fixed.  In this day and age with regards to technical advances this issue remains unresolved.

Fix it now!

Two weeks,  are you kidding me.  In the meantime revert to the old one.  You guys need to fire some people.  Completely unacceptable

Best Answer

3 Weeks from the time that they realized that they have an issue. Totally unacceptable response.

Good thing I didn't throw my money away on that new Ionic I was looking at.

What a joke....

Best Answer
Well ... I would like for them to have the time to get it right rather than
rushing it "out the door." Reverting to the previous stable version as
mentioned is a good workaround .
Best Answer

A partially functional release like this indicates that neither the developers or the QA team tested this feature. This is a HUGE software development failure. From John, a software developer.

I concur...I work on releases and fixes..NOTHING goes live until tested and signed off

2 weeks is too long to wait. Reverted to the previous working version.

It seemed to be getting worse and worse. My sleep stages didn't even work last night.

Back to normal now.
