Just got the S8+ yesterday, but my Blaze no longer receives notifications from my device. I've reset the Blaze, removed it from my account, gone through setup, restarted the phone and Blaze, uninstalled the app, and every other troubleshooting recommendation on the forums. All permissions are granted. No luck. Everything else syncs. Is this just a compatibility issue?

Yes. It's not designed to be paired like this.
You pair through the Fitbit app.

The most important thing to realize and that FitBit needs to realize is that Pairing through the App will allow the app to find the tracker HOWEVER the App is not adding the device to the Paired Devices list in Bluetooth settings AND you CANNOT do this process manually due to the tracker not allowing manual pairing via the low power bluetooth connection, this in turn is causing the sync / notifications / run tracking issues everone is having. FitBit needs to figure out why the App is not adding the device to the Paired Devices list when you add a tracker via the App. Something is happening DAYS after the tracker has been found through the app that is adding the tracker to the Paired Devices list and causing the Galaxy S8 to notify you about adding it as a trusted device.

Exactly. At this point in time all these things that people are saying to try does not work with the Galaxy S8, you have to sit around until it somehow asks you if you would like to trust this device and it then shows up under paired devices.

This really should not be a difficult thing for the Fitbit development team to fix. I could give it to an intern and they would have it complete in less than a week. Or I could send it to India offshore to get it done. Either way this would be a very simple task to complete. It's just a matter of priorities and apparently supporting existing customers is not a Fitbit priority

Currently using Fitbit Surge, it use to be able to work well when I first use it with S8+ but of late, I have not been able to receive notification from phone call and not keep having this error indicating bluetooth issue, not able to sync from time to time... very hard to get it to sync... battery life also down by 1 an half day.. approaching 2 years of using it... This is so exasperating!

I have had the blaze for approximately 1 year and it worked great on the Motorola Droid Turbo. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S8 on Tuesday. I was able to sync; however, I was unable to receive notifications. I tried every solution that was available without success. Today when I turned on my phone and went to fitbit to sync and even though many, many attempts to get notifications I tried the send a test under notifications and it WORKED! Calendar, phone, email & messages all came through. I guess you are right....just wait and it may happen.

What are you talking about connecting in via the app? I don't see anywhere in the app to connect the blaze to Bluetooth in the app. My phone will connect to fitbit classic but not to blaze itself. It also will not find my phone for GPS.

It's nice, I switched from the galaxy s8 to the iphone 7 and works beautifully now get all notifications now and gps works.

How do you pair it through the fitbit app. My phone syncs through the fitbit app but it doesn't connect to Bluetooth through it
Jman to each their own on phone choice. But I love my S8. It shouldn't matter what phone you choose. Their website says the s8 is compatible. If you spend 200 bucks on a device it should freaking work!

Bobowling - You shouldn't have to do anything special in the app. It's supposed to do it for you and it doesn't, but you also can't do it yourself which is why my Fitbit is going in a drawer. Their software is terrible.
My notifications worked for a day then stopped. I didn't do anything to get them working, and I didn't do anything to break them again.

I just switched to the new Samsung galaxy 8+ on Wed, as of today I have searched fitbit community forum, and various sites, have done everything possible and still can't get my notifications. Although you claims you have a "solution" well that solution is still not working. This is very frustrating and aggravating, this needs to be fixed A S A P! Looks like not the only one STILL having this issue. I want to rcv my notifications!

Hi. After months of frustration and countless hours working with Samsung reps, I have finally diagnosed the Bluetooth problem I have been having with my S8+ and 2017 Volvo XC60. Unfortunately having the Fitbit app on my Samsung phone creates some sort of corruption in my Bluetooth data, and/or it produces an unstable connection. Basically the Fitbit app (or the connection to my Blaze and Alta) makes it to where the audio in my car intermittently cuts in and out. Deleting the Bluetooth data for my phone temporarily restores a stable connection. The only long term and total fix to the problem has been uninstalling the Fitbit app altogether. I attempted to turn off the "all Day Sync" feature, thinking that that one setting might make a difference. But unfortunately, that wasn't enough.

How can this be solved if there are still issues. My blaze doesn't last more than 2 days and won't recei e notifications. It also won't connect with my phone when I want to track a bike ride. I've also done all of the recommendations with no effect. I am starting to look elsewhere for possible devices because this is such a problem. When can we expect a real solution to this issue?

When I posted that my Samsung S8 & Blaze started working I in no way implied the issues were solved. I have no idea how or why it finally started working. I know the issue still exists.

What provider do you have for your phone? Wondering if this also matters.
