Update 2/1/2021: This issue was resolved with the release of android app version 3.37.1. We appreciate your reports and patience as we worked on a resolution.


 

Update 1/29/2021: We've released Android app version 3.37.1 to address syncing issues. Please update your device if you are experiencing issues syncing. Thanks again for your patience as we worked to resolve this issue. 


 

 

 

Update 1/28/2021: We are still working on this issue and hope to have a fix real soon. We will update this thread as soon as we have more information. Thanks again for your reports and patience.

Any idea when this will be sorted please? Can't believe I spent all day yesterday messaging customer support being asked to try this and that when all along it was a problem at your end.

Is there any way to download an older version of the app (3.36.1 or 3.36)?  If its possible that would be great.

Please csn can you advise what's happening today 28th Jan with this issue. Reading all these comments is most concerning. Ive tried most of these suggestions to no avail.

Wow, spreading wild rumors will of course speed up the solution of the problem considerably.

(Broken Fitbits One, Charge 2 and 3). Using Charge 4 and Garmin fēnix 6. App vs 4.40. Android 14

Google will help. Be aware that there are potential security issues, so only try it if you are confident that you understand what you are doing.

I didnt know about this syncing issue until too late - I unpaired and disconnected my charge 4 from bluetooth and now no matter what I do I cant get it to connect to the app again.  I've turned my bluetooth on and off and the device off and on and although pho e can now find the device it wont connect - just keeps looping round telling to switch my bluetooth/device off and on ... any suggestions?

Yes but make sure you don't buy another fitbit. They are the worst when you have these issues and always leave you hanging!! This will not get better even with their new owners (Google)

Could you give an estimation on when the resolution will happen?

Or might it be a good plan to undo the previous update, solve the issue and than roll out the update again!?

I want to be able to use my Charge 4, and this is quite impossible without it able to connect and sync with the Fitbit app.

Still unable to sync.  Is everyone still having issues, is there a fix in the works?

Yes, two of my friends have I phones and are still able to use their Versa
2 and Versa 3. So it appears that it's only a problem with Android phone
users????

Hey Guys,

 

If you have and Android Device (and maybe without Google play), try to download "Aptoide" App to find "Fitbit 3.36.1"

I used Inspire2 and everything is fine as I am using the old version (although there's exercise log I didn't add today and I got distance while didn't even turn on GPS). It will be MUCH BETTER than only waiting.

so odd.  Google buys fitbit, and then fitbits stop working on Android which is ironically made by GOOGLE.  So weird.  Hope it gets fixed soon...  might switch back to the miband...  But I do like the gps feature of the fitbit.  I guess I would be mad, but this was a gift, so like they say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth...

Yesterday I did the android app update and now my versa will not sync. I uninstalled the app and unpaired my versa, reinstalled and re-paired my versa to get 1 sync yesteday at 11:47 am. the clock is 5 minutes slow also. no syncs since.

 

They released a buggy app update that killed the sync on android phones. 

 

I dug our my old Blaze that looks like it's been through a war and so far it is able to sync. so I get to wear 2 watches.

 

How will we know when this bug has been fixxed?

I have had problems staying paired with Fitbit and iPhone. Not a new problem. I have purchased two more trackers (fit it’s, charge Alta and inspire) none stay paired. Also thru iPhone 8 and now 12. It is beyond annoying to pair 5 times a day. As soon as it pairs, downloads it says lost pairing. I like the slim inspire design and don’t want to change companies but this is so frustrating!! I have tried all your suggested tricks. Turning off and on, restarting, etc etc. nothing works.

Hi Lizzy I have the Syncing issue on my Android since yesterday abd have done everything listed on Zippoz's message.

I am not even able to connect to the customer service through my app.

 

Sense keeps rejecting pairing to my android and now the app does not connect to the sense though bluetooth detects it.

 

We buy fitbit for the features and the trust on the product/brand. If it gives such a performance or trouble, its very disappointing

Any attempt to give specific instructions here in the community forum gets blocked (it literally won't post and you get a message telling you that what you are trying to post is "not allowed") but if you go back to page 17 of this thread and read the posts for a few pages you can probably piece it together.  Several of us have tried to post as much helpful info as we can without getting censored.
