Getting back top basics.. I enjoy using my Fitbit Pay on the Ionic.. and put up with the syncing issues..

If I uninstall 2.64 to upgrade, not downgrade.... do I have to install Fitbit Pay again..

It concerns me because last time I had to do a factory reset and its obvious issues because I could not get the Ionic to pair to Bluetooth.  Today I had to force stop the App because the exclamation red dot was totally jammed.. Another new issue..

The beast in me wants to test V2.65.1 because the Ionic works with the odd sync issue..

I'm not going to use up my time uninstalling and installing etc. - I'll just have to remember to sync at my computer once or twice a day.

I don't understand why the Google Play store shows version 2.65.1 as the latest version when I'm not logged in, but only 2.64 when I am logged in. In any case, there's no way to upgrade, and I'm not spending time downgrading.

Frustrating.

@SunsetRunner:  If you want a possible solution that doesn't take a large time investment, you can try my workaround.  Works 100% for me.  Message 113

I have been having two seperate issues, One is the Fitbit Charge 2 not syncing and I have to remove the charge from the bluetooth, reboot my phone then add it again. really annoying.

Then there is the constant one regarding Android 8.0

"Notification required for connectivity features"

says I am required to have a persistent notification to allow it to background sync.

Have tried everything to get this to happen but it isn't clear how to do it. I have it on the allday sync. Had no problems until a few days ago.

It says "tip, press and hold this persistent notification to access a toggle that lets you hide this in your drawer"

Doesn't do anything. I click okay on the message and it still comes back.

Hi. Yes need to uninstall first the 2.64 version, then have to install the 2.63 version. Use the installer when prompted and follow any prompts.
You will need to go into security to allow install from untrusted source but it will suggest that too.
Turn off auto updates, and dont update it after if asked.
2.63 works for me and mostly everyone else.

This took jus a few minutes. I can only speak for my Alta HR. Idk if it works for any other fitbit devices.

What I do know is that Fitbit can fix this, they are choosing not to because we are their test community. I'm no professional researcherb but based on the numerous frustated posts on this forum, this test has failed.

Suggesting to users to get new devices seems to be a racketeering situation.  Who do they think they are? Ppl aren't willing to throw their $ around just for device to work....unless they are silly drones. I want my fitbit to work for me. I will not bend to the beast.

Hi  Don't know if you saw a previous post.  I was having the same "tracker not found" message on my phone   On advice I powered off my phone.  Reset my Charge 2 tracker and then powered the phone up again  It has now synced happily since I did this on Saturday night   I have just come in from a walk and it synced again.  I had tried resetting my tracker previously but had not powered down the phone and it did not work.   Might be worth a try.

Sorry just jumped in...I just got the Charger 2...Is the syncing issue also related to not being able to sync the text messages and calls?...I am new to all this so sorry if this is a repeated question...

I bought my Flex 2 in the 1st week of this year, had no problem syncing until around 20th January.. I've done all their recommendations when the device is not syncing, unpaired and paired again, unistalled and reinstalled the app, and this thing still only syncs one time  and never again... I'm getting annoyed, the tracker works perfectly, gives me the reminders to move, tells me when I reach my goal, but if I want to sync alarms, or turn on the notifications or just sync the tracker data it doesn't work...

It's about time they fix this... Glad I spent less money on the Flex instead of the Charge, because I would be really mad by now...
