My fitbit app wouldn't work with my new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Marshmellow) due to syncing issues. I just reset my fitbit (plug it into laptop/wall charger and hold button on left side for approx 10seconds until fitbit symbol appears, then unplug it). App worked instantly! 🙂

Maybe I need to tell my neighbor, who both have S7's and have been fine for the past month with no problems.. Are they doing the impossible? Maybe because their tracker a where already set up, and all they had to do was log into their accounts.

Actually, for some reason, my Fitbit Blaze started syncing with my Galaxy S7 too. I too, already had an account. I don't know what to say to all you out there having problems. I did the following:
I removed the Fitbit app from my phone
I reinstalled the Fitbit app to my phone
I removed the Fitbit Blaze from my account
I reinstalled the Fitbit Blaze to my account
I stopped the auto sync
I restarted the auto sync
Finally, I ignored it altogether.
It finally started working on its own, dispite everything I did. Go figure.

@nightshine Great to hear that you were able to successfully get your Blaze syncing with your S7. Thanks for sharing your update.
Everyone -- The S7 or S7 Edge are not currently listed as supported devices.
As a workaround while our Android team works to test and add those devices to our supported devices list, you can sync via a computer using the USB wireless sync dongle that came with your tracker.

Is there any expected timescale on it being a supoorted device?
It's a bit strange that with the phone being out for a number of months now that there still isn't an ETA on it being supported yet all the competitors have devices which work with the phone.

@Garold it really isn't strange, Fitbit is not known for releasing ETA's. I only have seen confirmed time periods for hardware releases.

After reading through this painful thread I've come to realize that my fitbit isn't worth the money I paid for it and the company that makes it isn't worthy of my business. This thread started back in March. I just bought my Charge HR last week and purchased my new Galaxy S7 Active two days later without knowledge of compatibility issues. I'm sorry but the S7 and its known compadibility issues with fitbit have been know for 5 months or longer. Sorry but it is unacceptable that Fitbit hasn't found a fix for this issue. My Fitbit also won't sync to my HP laptop running windows 8 so there is another failure. I will be returning this overpriced piece of garbage to the store I purchased it from today and have no intension of waisting any more of my hard earned money on your worthless products. Your company is a joke.

I'm not sure what is going on, I know 4 people with the S7 their for its worked perfectly.
Unfortunately all their for its where setup before they got the S7. All the needed to do was downloAd the app and log into their Fitbit accounr.

I'm confused because I've had my S7 since March and had no issues at all with my Fitbit Flex syncing with it, except in the last month or so as I realised last week that notifications have stopped appearing in my notifications bar. Prior to that I haven't had (or noticed) any issues. Now I only get my low battery warning by email and I no longer get the 'nearly there' alerts on my step count. But as I literally only noticed last week, I can't say when it stopped happening. All my other info is correct on the app, although I have to go into the sleep log to get it to show the details.

As for notifications not showing in your status bar, these notifacations are what Fitbit is looking for.. I would check your messaging app. Ms phone settings. This and the nearly there makes me think it is some phone setting and not fitbits.
As for sleep I also find that clicking through forces the app to get the data, or a forced second sync sometimes work. As for sleep data this is determined on the web after a sync, the tracker itself doesn't do it.

I've checked my apps and nothing has changed in the settings. The Fitbit notification as from Fitbit and not my message app (i.e., the Fitbit icon/logo) and even if it was, my message app is set to priority. I've unchecked and rechecked what I think are the relevant settings, and will see how it goes. As it happens I had a low battery today but only spotted it because I did a sync, and didn't get the notification.

I got a Samsung s7 edge yesterday (switched over from Iphone 6) and downloadd the fitbit app. Synced perfectly with my Fitbit HR. No issues.

@Garold @paankadu I currently don't have a timeframe to share of when these devices will be tested and added as fully supported. I suggest keeping a close eye on this list as it will be updated once it is fully supported.
@AlisonAlley Thanks for the update, glad to hear it's back to syncing.
@Shazbat You will only receive the low battery email notifications if you complete a sync while on 25% or lower battery life.
@Taleese You can check out the list of all supported devices here. The S6 Edge Plus is not listed as supported.
I still recommend trying these syncing troubleshooting tips if it was previously working for you.

It has been months since the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have been on the market----very frustrating that Fitbit is still not compatible with these top selling phones. Any estimate for when this deficiency will be corrected---would hate to be persuaded to move to a different fitness wearable.

Can't believe this is still an issue after over FOUR MONTHS. My Charge HR synced with my S7 Edge for two weeks then completely stopped being seen via Bluetooth by the phone about 3 days ago. Have tried all the remedies suggested to no avail. The S7 line is likely going to be the most popular non-Apple phone of 2016... This should be a priority! Will be returning my Fitbit if no fix available ASAP. Syncing with a computer is not an acceptable "workaround."
