My fitbit app wouldn't work with my new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Marshmellow) due to syncing issues. I just reset my fitbit (plug it into laptop/wall charger and hold button on left side for approx 10seconds until fitbit symbol appears, then unplug it). App worked instantly! 🙂

My Fitbit ran out of charge yesterday and I didn't get ANY notification, not even the email. No steps or anything recorded. It's a minor thing in the scheme of things, but it's SO annoying.

S7. I'm assuming not directly related to the phone issue, but annoying nonetheless and nothing being done about it it seems.

I am one more user uaving issues syncing with S7 Esge. Had no issues dor over 3 months then boom nothing. I see people having issues at least as far back as Feb. How can it take so long to correct and why no issues at first? https://contact.fitbit.com you need to explain & correct.

sync. Went thru all the trouble shooting and finally called fitbit. After
45mins of going thru EVERYTHING with them they finally came up with the
we're reprogramming for S7 Edge. I asked the same question, why did it
work up till now? They couldn't answer. I have again emailed them for an
update. I'll let everyone know if I get an answer.

I've also changed nothing. I just checked and I got my phone on 30 April. I only noticed in June that it had stopped notifying me via the push notifications (which are still set to happen) so I don't believe the "compatibility" is entirely to blame because it did it for 2 months before stopping.
The banner announcement about 'badges' is interesting because me and a Twitter friend both got the same one today (she's in the US, I'm in the UK) and I certainly have 'earned' any badges for ages. Probably since the notifications stopped happening.

people are having operating issues. Who cares about a stinking badge? I am
going to keep bothering them until they fix this issue.

You're constantly working to add approved devices and yet you still haven't added the most popular flagship phones of the company with the most marketshare in the world? Really? They have been out for a long time now.... I'm sure there are 10 people out there who appreciate when you add an Asus or LG phone to the list, but there are MILLIONS that are pretty pissed you still haven't added SAMSUNG's latest yet.

Don't get over-excited, but I just got a 'nearly there' step count notification on my S7!!! Could it be that all of a sudden the compatibility has been sorted??

My wife tried syncing her Fitbit Blaze with her Galaxy S7 today, and the tracker pairs with the phone, but the Fitbit app says that it cannot find the device. So I'd say that unfortunately, no, they don't have it fixed yet.
It's obscene that a device like this (essentially an overpriced, overglorified pedometer) would still be unsupported on a mainstream smartphone after 6 months. Just saying "it's not a supported device," as the helpful staff on this thread have done, is unacceptable. People have a reasonable expectation of compatibility with the mainstream, or else they are going to walk away from the brand/company. That's what I'll be doing: definitely would never buy from Fitbit again, if "oh well" is their idea of supporting their products.
Why is it hardware-dependent, anyway? If it's a Bluetooth device and the software is compatible with the Android OS, then what difference should the hardware platform make?

@McGuffin if your trying to sync then the user can not do a manual pair to the phone, this is the job of the app. What you connected was probably Bluetooth classic eh itch is used for music control
First question is the Blaze attached to your wife's Fitbit account?
If not then it will need to be by doing an add device through the app.

My Surge sync'd easily with an older S4. The battery died and I replaced the phone with an S7 Edge. Unable to receive texts or call notifications on the Surge now. I agree that the Fitbit response that this device is unsupported is unacceptable. Fitness needs to publish an anticipated date of the update/fix.
I recommend to anyone to purchase another brand.
BTW, my family uses a variety of activity trackers (Garmin, etc), and I'm the only on that isn't able to sync.
