I've been trying to log in to my Fitbit app on my Nexus 5x for the last 3 days and I keep getting this error. "Fitbit.com is unavailable. Please try again later."

I can log-in to Fitbit.com on my phone's browser just fine.

I've only ever logged in once on the app (during initial setup) and it's never been a problem since recently. Then all of a sudden I've been logged out. Changed my password and made sure the app was updated to the most recent version as well.

What's going on??!

Hello @Saturnin, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. Certainly this is not an expected behavior with the app. Have you tried to reset the password?

I experienced a similar scenario with my Android and I was able to access by resetting the password using my online Dashboard.

Give it a try and keep me posted how it goes.

@Saturnin Thanks for reporting this! I'm curious if you're still having this issue with the latest Android app version 2.51?

If you are still having this login issue, I suggest checking for the following:

- You're able to access the internet through your phone's browser and you have a strong wifi or cellular connection. Please, also visit:www.fitbit.com to ensure we are not currently experiencing temporary network issues.

If after this you're still getting the error, certificates on your Android phone for the Fitbit App needs to be enabled. To do so, please try the following:

1) Make sure your current date and time are correct. The easiest way to do this is to visit Settings // Date & Time and make sure that the "Automatic Time Zone" and "Automatic Date & Time" are both checked.
2) Make sure that all certificates that reference Fitbit.com are enabled on your handset. The easiest way to do this is to:
- Open Settings // Security // Trusted Credentials
- Make sure that all certificates that start with either "AddTrust" or "AddTrust AB", as well as "COMODO" are all enabled. To enable, click on the entry in the list, then scroll down and click the "Enable" button
- Then reboot your phone (this is required to register the changes in the certificates.)

Please keep me posted!

Hi, I've got the same problem on my Huawei P8 lite. I've done all you suggested, and still get the "fitbit.com is unavailable" message.

I haven't been able to sign on to my Fitbit mobile app for the past 1/2 hour. It keeps telling my it's not available. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hi! I've been having the same issue on my LG G5. My daughter logged me out to log herself in on Thurs. It hasn't let me log back in since I logged her out. I'm able to login on my browser & tablet so the problem seems to be just the app on my phone. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling it & rebooting my phone. I looked into the certificates & date/time & everything is as it should be. However, I've been unable to login since Thurs.

@KathleenWagner Welcome to the Fitbit family! Are you still experiencing this issue? That's very strange.

Try cleaning your browser's cache. If still not working, try using a different browser to log in.

You can also use a supported mobile device to sync if yo keep experiencing issues while logging in.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

@KathleenWagner Thanks for your reply! I moved the thread to the Android App Board as there are more chances to get an answer to your inquiry here.

So, you are getting the error message on your Android device? Or is it on the computer?

If it is on your mobile device, do the following:

  • Log out from the Fitbit app.
  • Reboot your phone.
  • Log back in to the Fitbit app.

That should help. Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

Is there something wrong with Android app?  I cannot get logged back in.  I've been getting an error message that Fitbit.com is not available.  I can access from my Ipad and Iphone but not my Android device (which is the device that I use to track all my numbers).

Thanks. Tracy

@Clackers @Catwoman001 @cmlewis16712 @Matesmom Thanks for reporting this login issue with the Fitbit for Android app!

Can any of you please confirm if you have tried the following: Forget your Wifi network on your device, then re-connect and try logging back into the Fitbit app. Please let me know if that resolves the issue.
