Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.
I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.
I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.
It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.
Can anyone advise, please?

Update #?? (I've lost track of what number update this is)
Posted my query back in May. Six months later and still NO MEANINGFUL UPDATE from Fitbit.
Moderator Edit: Updated post.

this should be an easy fix to revert it back to the way it was, because they have not done it, I assume it will never go back. Mostly likely this is due to the merging with the google account and that has some type of privacy protection that will stop you being able to view any other people data.
If we are not going to revert the changes, I assume the easiest fix is a firmware update to the scales where if it is a guest it actually prompts for all possible users and the user can be selected and the data shown.

Agree. Not sure why @JuanFitbit keeps telling us to have patience…that the team is working on it. Apparently, Fitbit Support is still telling users to reboot their device, which does nothing but take time. The lack of transparency is really annoying; it’s no way to treat loyal Fitbit users.

I was excited to share this solution but I don't know if it has helped anyone yet (or if anyone has even read it!). Please somebody give it a try!!
I suffered from the same issues mentioned here. When standing on the scales I got a weight but recorded as Guest. Standing on with socks I got a weight but also got the fat% to at least display (showing '--%'). I tried all the resetting suggestions listed in this thread, no luck. I tried thoroughly cleaning the surface with soap and water, still nothing.
I then used isopropyl alcohol and gave it a good hard clean. It now recognises me and gives me fat%- it's basically fully functional again.
If your scale's surface is not totally smooth glass, like mine wasn't, and you can feel a thin yet hardly visible coating of dust, precipitate, or general muck, then this might be the problem.
Give it a go! Hope this helps someone!

same issue here with Aria 2 - recognizes all users as guest - no recent weigh ins in app. This issue persists since May

Still having the same issue and contacted support, they don't seem to know how to fix it. Did anyone else have any luck fixing this?

I have this issue too, went through support twice and asked me to uninstall the app on my phone. What a joke, there's been no serious attempt to fix or even acknowledge this issue.
After a reinstall of the Fitbit app on my Android 13 device I can confirm I still have this issue. After returning to the support team they told me they can't fix it and someone will be in touch via email.
I'm not hopeful at all. I would be surprised if Fitbit offer any solution to this issue, they're renowned for poor customer service.

I am having this same issue. My wife hasn't been able to record her weight for weeks because she keeps coming up as Guest. This is affecting insurance benefits that we get from my company. We bought this scale for the automatic data upload. Looks like we should be getting our money back since Fitbit doesn't deliver what they promised.
Do NOT mark this as "Answered" by linking to the "We're looking into it" post. That's BS. "Answered" means it's fixed.

Out of the blue, mine just started working two days ago. I have been manually entering my weight into Fitbit for a long time.

Seriously you are marking this as answered when the issue is ongoing? Awful...definitely convincing me to switch away from any Fitbit devices after owning them for 10+ years. Just sad.

Where did the recent weigh-ins go? I can't find it on both the desktop and mobile apps. Just did a weigh-in this morning, but the apps aren't registering my new weight.

I am still frustrated that my Aria2 no longer syncs to my account since I transferred everything to Google! No one at FitBit seems willing to help!

This issue is not solved so marking it as solved is very frustrating for us users.
As already asked we need to know this is still considered an open issue and an indication of a time to fix, please.
This has been an issue for quite some time now so a prompt response and fix would be appreciated.

Agree, Guest weigh-ins still missing from Recent Weigh-ins in iOS App and online web.

I agree that "best answer" should really be an answer, not a status. In fact, the status has not changed for 60 days. I wonder what is really happening at Google these days. Too many employees in the "quiet room"?

How long do we have to wait?
Please fix the bug where guests in "aria" cannot be displayed.

I had a very frustrating conversation with Fitbit telephone support before finding this thread (they have no idea about the app or the Aria 2 product or this bug).. That aside - What is going on that this bug has not been corrected as of yet?
My scale only reads me as a GUEST now, and I am unable to assign these weigh-ins.
Has anyone else started looking at the competitor scales?

My Aria (the original one) see’s me as a guest. It displays the sync icon. I go in the app and look at recent weigh-in’s so I can assign them to myself but none are shown. I saw another thread that said cleaning the surface or standing on paper to stop device measuring fat% helps but this did now work for me.
Any ideas?
