Aria 2 won’t register guest weight

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.

I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.

I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.

It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.

Can anyone advise, please?

unbelievably great post, wish we had the answers to literally any of those excellent bullet points

Why in the world would you remove the ability to at least capture and change the guest weight entry, this makes absolutely zero sense, that was at least a compromise, not being able to auto capture anything now just sucks.

Hi JuanFitbit

It has now been 1 full month since my Aria Scales synced ??

Despite all threads to this reoccurring glitch none of your IT people seem capable of resolving the issues??

I see the Scales are still available to buy Online, I really think they should be withdrawn from the market until your IT people come up with a solution.

I have been with Fitbit since 2016 and I am very disappointed with the service provided,

Since Fitbit joined forces with Google it has been a disaster.

Please find a Solution ASAP

I am telling as it is 🤷🏻‍:female_sign: Fitbit / Google need to get this glitch fixed, it’s went on too long, we do have the right to voice our frustrations, I pay a monthly subscription and would expect better Customer Service, I have lost count of telephone call to the Support Team and here I am 30 days later and the issue is still unresolved.

We need to give them honest feedback or nothing gets resolved x

Try doing a manual add of whatever the scale said for the guest weigh in. I got involved in this post due to my hubby no longer being recognized except as guest. I manually added his recent weigh in and it recognizes him again. Still can't see any guest weigh ins to reassign, but not an issue imo if it's back in sync with the person. I hope this workaround helps. 🙂

While this workaround does work, that’s not what this scale was originally designed to do. Still feel a fix is needed—although unlikely to happen, unfortunately.

100% agree on both accounts.  Big business just wants to get bigger not fix or improve products/services.  Up to us to actually help each other where we can.

I’ve just had an email from Fitbit, promising a sneak peak at the new Fitbit App.

But what Maggie Stanphill, Senior Director, User Experience, and Bhanu Narasimhan
Senior Director of Product Management, at Fitbit don’t understand is that if they don’t sort out the issue with Aria Scales not working as intended, then many of its loyal “Fitbit Family” Customers will have moved on elsewhere before the new App is ready…

Ive had the same issue and equally disappointed in the response. however I decided to start adding my weigh ins manually to the app. then what do you know the scales have started to recognise me again, touch wood that it continues.

Best Answer

I have tried this but it didn't align for me. How long did you manually update the app?

I manually added my weight, and then around 5 days later than weighed myself and it picked me up, my weight had only changed by 0.5lb in that time.

Best Answer

I have been adding it manually too, but hope that the glitch will eventually get resolved.

Can someone respond to these questions ?

This “fix” does not work for me, I have added my weight manually for 5 days now, no luck

Same here, I am on day 6 and nothing has automatically happened… I might as well buy a $10 Walmart scale and write my weight on a piece of paper.  This is starting to reach comedy levels?

Please report current status, bugs filed, engineers assigned, fix ETA?

What worked for me was putting on a pair of socks and getting on the scale
might take a few runs but it will then ask you who you are. Once it does
that then take off the socks and weigh again it should now recognize you.
Since I initially posted at the beginning of July I have had to do this
twice and it worked both times. --
Thanks
