Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.
I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.
I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.
It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.
Can anyone advise, please?

I didn’t use the scales for a year, I decided to set it up, I suffered for half a day and thought that I was a fool who couldn’t figure out such a simple issue (I work in IT), it turned out that I was not a fool, but the company that services these scales...
It is strange that the problem is massive, but there are no official statements !!!
Welcome to party friends )))

have to make sure your phone is running 2.4Ghz; turn your 5G off.
there should be no need to go through anymore more unnecessary steps -- pun intended.
Many might still have an older phone that you only need linked your home internet, if you don't have a 5G on/off switch.

Hello,
I literally could have written the same post you have responded to. Has there been a solution you could advise me on? I have tried everything that the user above has mentioned
Many thanks

I finally got mine working but it required me moving my old account to a different email and the starting a new Google account with the gmail account I had been using. They keep saying there is a way to migrate your data to Google (even though I have a gmail account and am therefore already on Google), but I have yet to find it anywhere.
anyway starting a “new” Google account on my old email address after migrating my old data to a different email address and then adding my fitbit and aria 2 scales to the “new” account now have them recognising weigh-ins again. But all my old data is elsewhere.

Can you see Guest weights again? If not then you've worked around the problem this thread is about, but haven't solved it.

1) I don't really appreciate the combative tone you've set on your post. I never offered my experience as a solution, it was only my experience with this problem and what I had to do to get my scales to recognise me again. I thought this thread was about people sharing their experience and frustrations with this issue. The fact that I had to lose all my data to even get my scales to work is incredibly frustrating.
2) the OP specifically stated that their scales stopped recognising them at all, and didn't register or record even as a guest. The same thing happened to me. It was only after I created a new account basically that it started recognising me again. Again this is my experience, not a solution, and even as a work around, it's still pretty poor because I have basically lost my entire history. Fitbit still need to fix the issue and offer a proper solution.

My apologies, it was a bit abrupt now that I read it. Can I start again?
Can you please clarify if you can see the Guest weights again?

When will this problem of guests not showing up be fixed?
Do the officials intend to fix it?
It is a pity because I like this scale so much.

Please don’t mark this answered if it is not answered. I have the same problem and agree with the throw it out the window comment. I bought this scale so it would sync. Now that it won’t sync, I have a really expensive scale that does the same thing as a $20 scale.

This has started affecting me now as well. All has been fine up until 2 days ago when I weighed our cats usingbour Aria 2, with me holding them. Weights were registered against me (I think) and I also changed the units to make it easier to calculate the weights of our cats.
Popped it back to normal weight unit, and attempted to delete the cat weigh ins via the app. The first one appeared to delete correctly, but the subsequent weigh ins refused to delete. First indication of something going wrong.
Didn't think too much about it at the time. Have now done a weigh in this morning and it assigned it to Guest. Went to reassign it in the app and none of my weigh ins from the past 3 days are visible.
If this has been going on since May, then (certainly for UK customers) you have the right to a full refund from your retailer! This is classed as mis-selling. Fitbit advertised a product with a significant feature which they cannot support. If you purchased, partly on the basis of this feature, then this is covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and a refund is available to you.
I wonder how quickly they might fix this issue, knowing that 1,000s of customers might be on the verge of claiming a refund...

So my immediate has been resolved. When I weighed in this morning, my Aria 2 gave me the option of selecting a profile, so was able to assign the weight to my profile. I tested again a few mins later and it auto assigned the weight to me. All good.
However, the fundamental issue with not being able to see Guest weights remains. I tried a data export of everything and that didn't include the guest weights over the last few days.
Trying to progress this with Fitbit via Twitter...

No worries and sorry for the late reply. I had someone else jump on and it didn’t register their weigh-in (they came up as guest on the scales).

Hello Moderators,
Why is this post marked as answered when surely it should still be open as it's still an ongoing issue that @Fitbit and @google have not solved since the first highlight of this issue was raised in March, we are coming up half a year and we still don't have a resolution so please unmark this as answered as we clearly don't have a resolution.
Regards

I'm back from my 14 day involuntary community vacation :).
Sad to see @nxvrxm posts are unanswered and no fix has been published during that time.

Any update on this? This is a frustrating issue, and it needs to be resolved. At teh moment this Scale is like any other less expensive scale on market. If you cannot fix it, what about organizing a refund? I see weight shown as GUEST, but I cannot change it to my profile or even access it through "Recent Weigh-Ins" on the phone app (it's shown as "No weigh-ins recorded yet"). Web app does not even show "Recent Weigh-Ins".

Bear in mind that even though Fitbit (and all other companies) have a clause in their Ts&Cs saying they have the right to change the terms and conditions at any time, that doesn't mean you are obligated to accept any new Ts&Cs. No company can force you to accept Ts&Cs (at the point of purchase) that it may define at some point in the future.
So, if Fitbit ever forces you in to accepting updated Ts&Cs, before allowing you to use the equipment that you have paid money for, immediately contact the company and highlight to them that they have no legal basis for forcing you to accept the new Ts&Cs. Highlight that the only reason you have accepted the Ts&Cs is to get access to the controls for the equipment that you have paid for. Assert your right for them to reimpose the original Ts&Cs, otherwise they need to refund you for all equipment affected.
This approach works - I have used it to secure a refund off a company that forced me into accepting new Ts&Cs without giving me the option of sticking with the Ts&Cs that I originally signed up to.
Remember in the UK you also have the mis-selling rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
