Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.
I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.
I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.
It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.
Can anyone advise, please?

Posted my query back in May. Six months later and still NO MEANINGFUL UPDATE from Fitbit.

I agree it would be nice if they fixed the problem already. I brought the scales for this purpose not to do it all manually

Please everybody read what it says in Fitbit’s terms of service about arbitration procedures, and how you may follow them to resolve a dispute with Fitbit if it has not been resolved within 15 days of your initial contact at the address listed in the arbitration procedures.

Can anyone tell me how other brands of scales deal with the problem of assigning weighings to different people sharing the scales? Do they all have this guest weight concept? If not, how do they do it?

i just got off the phone with their phone support. "this is a known issue" and "we don't have a date for when this will be resolved" is what i was told. I see this was first reported in April or May of this year. Soo..... they are "working on it" but they have not been able to figure it out for over 5 months?!?!

Hi,
The main problem is that the "Guest weight" is not showing under the recent weight in.
So, this post is not about the syncing problems or network problems of your scale. Please stop recommending unrelated and nonsensical solutions like changing the network from 5GHz to 2.4GHz. It is definitely a problem on the server side, which means Fitbit should solve this.
Also, please remove the "solved" tag from this post. Fix it and show respect to your old customers by solving their problems.

My Aria (1st generation) finally started to sync today! Last few weeks unsynced record as a guest (weight only with no body fat measure) was lost though. I was about to throw it away! LOL.

Still a problem here.
Will this issue be fixed at some point, or should I buy a competitor's product. This problem negates the entire purpose of this scale.

If you bought the scale, get a refund. Plain and simple. Do not wait for them to come up with a fix as you can see it has been months now and there is information supposedly that they are not planning on fixing the problem.
I cannot say what I wish to say as sadly what I said above is as much as I can say without getting my post removed.

I think the people who can get a refund probably have bit a lot of us been with Fitbit for awhile and have had scales for few years won’t get a refund now.
i think what frustrating is for years it’s work mostly fine but now there been a update it stopped working we don’t want to buy new scales because Fitbit can’t be asked to fix it as they want you to buy there google brand scales instead

Not that difficult. Go to your profile and click subscriptions. Check off the ones you wish to leave and click delete

Yeah I've had this one for a while, ultimately it did what it was supposed to, but there couple of memorable network-related issues along the way. This latest is a dealbreaker if there's no fix forthcoming.
I've settled on an alternative that appears to provide more options.
Ultimately, on the surface at least, this appears to be another "failure by Google takeover." Should've known.
Be well!

My scale has never stopped working. The only thing I can’t see is guest weights, and the only reason I need to see those is if I would need to reassign it. I have not had to do that since I stopped being able to see the guest weights. So I am tired of seeing all of these email complaints. How do I get out of this thread?
You can just click Unsubscribe at the bottom of the email. Don't forget where to come if you do start getting weights assigned to Guest.

Does Google make scales?

Would this idea below work as a workaround for this missing Guest weight problem? I haven't tried it because at the moment the scales are assigning weights to everyone in the house correctly.
Make several "dummy" accounts and connect them to the scales. Call them something like Guest1, Guest2, etc. Log into each of them and manually set their weights to multiples of 10kg around your weight - say, 70kg, 80kg, and 90kg. Make their weights visible to anyone else using the scales.
The scales seem to want to assign weights to someone within 5kg of the weighing, so surely now it'll attach any weighing to either you or one of these dummy accounts. Surely. If so then you should see them in the recent weighings list, and be able to reassign them.
Just an idea. If anyone is keen enough to try it, I'd appreciate hearing if it works of not.

Won’t work for two reasons. 1. We have the ability to update weight manually today. Lots of us have tried weighing ourselves, and manually updating our weight in the app. The syncing process doesn’t identify that we are now close to this weight and update. 2. After you invite someone to join your scale the next step is to weigh them, go into guest weights and assign it. No guest weights, no ability to assign it.

I managed to get ours assigning weights correctly again a month ago by entering some weights manually, but I realise people have had varying success with that. I was thinking this might help trick it into accepting one of them if there were several eligible accounts.
