Aria 2 won’t register guest weight

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.

I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.

I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.

It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.

Can anyone advise, please?

Posted my query back in May. Six months later and still NO MEANINGFUL UPDATE from Fitbit.

I've been following this thread and reading the emails I get at every comment but I just want to share the comment above me from nachomaama is absolutely worthless.

That's all

Thank you, I've been trying to figure this out all morning, sure enough the paper worked. In my case it was working just fine a couple weeks ago until I switched from a Charge 4 to a new Luxe, which came with a free trial of premium, wonder if premium has something to do with it 🤔.

Very frustrating at the scale no longer works. I'm having the same problem. I'm ready to throw it out the window. I have just spent almost 2 hours trying to make it work and then came across this forum. Totally unacceptable that you don't have a solution to fix this problem.

My scale aria is working again and I could assign my weight to my profile.
Looks like they figure out how to solve the problem (or part of it).

My Aria 2 finally started working correctly.

A bit of history:   I finally got around to switching my account to Google and on 10/10/2023 it started identifying all users as Guest.  Tried all the usual (delete device, reset router, removed/replaced batteries, etc)   No joy!

5 days later I removed the scale from my wife and my app, reinstalled and sent her another invite to the scale.   Still no change!    Then I removed and reinstalled the batteries and SUCCESS!   The scale has now been working fine for several days, so, maybe Fitbit pushed out a fix?

Good Luck,

Dave and Susie

Mine started working again, too, but then not, then working again the last 3 or 4 days. Still no Guest history in the app. Sad that FitBit/Google is not getting this snafu fixed more quickly. Mine worked flawlessly for 2 years then these problems appeared and it is clearly widespread. Something changed at their end they need to address.

How many time are we going to see posts like this?

Great to hear that you have your Aria 2 working again, but this is nothing to do with the subject of this thread!  Aghhh!

This thread is all about guest weights not  being accessible to be reassigned to a user's profile. This is still NOT WORKING!!!!

Guess I should clarify what, seems to have fixed it was putting a piece of paper on the scale, then it recognized me. Just had to do it once and now seems back to normal. Issue started after I was upgraded to Premium a few days ago.

@billinghamn is correct here. Until we can see the guest (and other users) weigh-ins in the list of recent weigh-ins, this issue is not fixed. Tricking the scale into not assigning your weigh-ins to guest in the first place is a potential workaround, but it does not mean that things are working. The bug still exists.

I agree, but which post do you mean? It's helpful to use the quote function when referring to previous posts.

Just for information, I tried to reset the scale, uninstall reinstall app,
weight 5 times etc, nothing was solving the problem and I was already
checking the other brands scales.
Without doing any update, the scale still with the same firmware version,
it is working again.
I strongly believe the issue is on their server, hopefully it will work
again for you as it was for me after a few days.

As it turns out, the scale was asking me to choose guest or my icon, but I didn't understand the message. Once I choose me with my right foot it started working.

I understood but in my case not seeing the guest weight meant that I couldn't assign it.
I had simply no weights at all in the weight inn list. Now sudenly I could see it and assign it.
I should try to do a different weight to see if it appears in the list.

This issue where the Aria 2 scale is not recognizing user + nothing comes up in "Recent Weigh-Ins" has been an issue since MAY of 2023 with no real solution.

A big FAIL for Fitbit & Google in general, is this going to be resolved anytime soon?

I've just struck this problem after resuming use of my Aria 2 after a year. New batteries, reset the app/scales connection and everything logs as Guest but cannot be assigned to me as I cannot see the Guest readings. I see this has been a problem since May.

Thing is, this has dreadful and ominous parallels to the lack of non-US date format on the primary display mode of the Charge 5. Years of complaints and requests on these very forums and the problem has never been fixed.

And now they're pushing our logins to Google. Trouble is, my family has Workspace (G Suite Legacy) email accounts and I have no confidence that such a conversion will even work. Sadly there are all sorts of similar problems with this type of thing - eg no Youtube family accounts are possible with such accounts.

Having endured numerous warranty replacements on various fitbits, my confidence in the brand is at an all time low. Really the only thing that has kept me here is the decade's worth of data. But I think I'm done. I just don't have the patience for this king of hassle factor these days.

Hi,

Try the followingv(no guarantees of course) :

In your fitbit App, change and save your avatar. After I did this,
Ibsynched my data and waited for the new avatar to appear on the Aria2
scale. Once the new avatar appeared, it was able to recognise, me.
Everything works as expected once more.

Except guest weights still don't appear, which is what this whole thread is supposed to be about
