Aria 2 won’t register guest weight

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.

I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.

I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.

It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.

Can anyone advise, please?

Thanks for pointing this out.

Not sure how guest weigh-ins can be re-established.

Issue with Arai 2 ongoing - wife not seeing her weight in her login - the Scale show her as Guest.  No Guest is showing up in the Apps.  In the old days, if the Aria 2 registered weight as Guest, I could see it and change to wife's name as needed.  GUEST is GONE!!!  when will this be fixed!!  (Fitbit app on Win 11, Android and iPhone - none work!!)  (BTW, mine has always worked with no loss in function)

I figured out the problem! I just gained the 12lbs I lost back and now the
scale recognizes me. Great success!

yes. A sudden gain of 8+ lbs apparently causes fitbit to classify you as a
guest. Lol.

How long does it take to find a solution Lizzy?  This actually has been going on for a couple of years at least.  Tell your product team to come up with a new version like asap

Who's Lizzy, please? And what issue has been going on for a couple of years? This issue of the the guest weights not being visible has been reported here since May 2023. Has it been happening longer than that for you?

Start over and perform setup.  Make sure you have the app open and follow the steps.  I just got mine working this morning.  As an IT person it took me about 30 min

Really? You were able to view and reassign a guest weight?

There are various ways to get the scales to start recognising a user again
but they seem a bit hit and miss and time consuming.

I don’t want to have to spend 30 min reseting the scales every time there
is a guest weight. I want to be able to fix it the way we used to by
spending 2 min reassigning the weight.

As others have said there isn’t much point to smart scales when it’s easier
to manually log the weight each day than get it to consistently associate
with the correct profile.

Two months later, I'm still waiting for a fix.

My scale was working perfectly until we set up a new wireless system in our new home. Now I can connect it to the network, but it doesn't recognize me, and I am completely unable to see any history of weigh-ins. We need a real solution.

I’ve been tracking this for way more than 2 months. Mind boggling that FitBit has not been able to resolve something so obvious.

This started happening to me a well. Here is my experiance.

I found it would show GUEST even thought my weight was still very close to the same as before.

There were not GUEST entries in the Recent Weigh-Ins page, even though it did the tick to show it was wifi syncing.

I did a full remove and add back in.

No change.

I tried to change one of my old Weigh-Ins to GUEST and now I cant see it anymore. So this just looks like a filter has been placed on that view.

I then redid the full remove and add back in. Scale very close to the Wifi AP.

I also reboot the Android Pixel 6 phone.

This then worked. I did the first weigh in at the 'Try it now' screen and did not 'Next' Next Next like I normally do (grin).

I look at the recent weigh-ins and they are there now. However we just had UK daylight saving and it says these weigh-ins were 1 hour ago (lol).

So a few bugs to fix Fitbit/Google. Please support this product.

Thanks

I fixed by Guest problems by manually logging a current weight against my account. Since then subsequent weigh-ins have logged correctly.

(The Guest weigh ins not being able to be assigned was/is definitely a problem).

This has been so frustrating, so I can relate!  I've been having this problem for a couple of months.  Given that the Aria 2 has been discontinued, I wonder how high the priority will be for resolving this issue.....

I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum for all the great tips, tricks and creative ideas on how to resolve this issue. Alas none of them ever managed to work for me, so I have decided to move to a different platform for my weight tracking needs.

I would love to hear what weight tracking platform you select.  Thanks!

Where’s the solution?

Unfortunately, it seems like it is with another vendor.
