HELP!!! I have searched and tried everything and still cannot get my Aria scale to connect to my router. It goes all the way through and then I receive the WIFI ERR message. My network mode on the router is 802.11 b/g/n its the 2.4 GHz network and the channel bandwidth is 20/40. I have reset the router 3 times and have tried set-up from my iPhone and Mac. I even tried to manually enter the MAC address of the Aria into the router settings, with no success. If anyone has any help what-so-ever, it would be greatly appreciated!!

@lesmith It's great to have you aboard in our Fitbit Community! So sorry to hear that your Aria scale is not connecting with your Comcast router. Please take a look and follow the troubleshooting steps that shared my friend Matthew in his post. These steps are for specifically for Comcast routers.
Keep me posted on the outcome my friend!

I've been reviewing everyone's comments and suggestions regarding syncing the Aria to a Comcast router. I recently (July 2017) received an upgraded router and it is an 802.11ac (no "b" anywhere to be found) - it falls in their Wireless Gateway 3 category. I have tried everything and cannot get my Aria to sync with it. Any suggestions?

@CLStelplugh Thanks for joining us in this thread! As you mentioned, the Aria scale connects with the protocol 802.11b. In order to change this setting on your router, please contact your Internet service provider so they can guide you to change the protocol. Once your router is on the 802.11b protocol, try the setup process one more time.
@lesmith Before I proceed, I would like you to check out this help article and make sure that your router has the correct settings besides the 802.11b protocol.
Let me know how it goes my friends!

When looking at my network settings in the router the two security modes that I have as options are WPA2-PSK (AES) and WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES). And according to the settings DHCP is enabled. I even set the DHCP lease for the IPv4 to Forever and still was unable to get the scale to connect. (I'm not sure that the below image will show up, but if so that is the settings I have for my network)
WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES) Show More Security Mode Options
Please note 802.11 n mode only compatible with AES and None encryption!!
WPA requires an 8-63 ASCII character password or a 64 hex character password. Hex means only the following characters can be used: ABCDEF0123456789.

I recently purchased the Aria scale and spent hours trying to get it to sync to my Comcast/Xfinity Wifi network with no success. I then used the FitBit customer service online chat - that was no help either.. They kept saying I needed the 802.11 b/g/n protocol.. as far as we knew, we had that... so I returned the Aria and got another one.. Same results :(.. would not connect. I then read this forum and found this article.. It was truly the only article that was helpful.... When I went into my Xfinity admin settings I found I had two protocols.. not one.. One of them was 802.11 b/g/n/ the other did not have the option to set to this protocol.. My resolution; I temporarily disabled the one protocol that had the non-compatible settings and FINALLY it linked... All I can say is for a high-tech toy, this was way too much work.. If it was anyone else, they would have given up and just returned it. So note to the Fit Bit programmers.. Make this tool compatible to all protocols like every other toy that links to a standard home wifi system.. Its CRAZY that I had to find these articles and manipulate my wifi protocols to get it to work.. I work in high-tech and I can't image my parents or anyone else who is not tech savy to deal with it...

Thanks so much for the info....tried this as well and it didn't work.
Getting very frustrated with the while thing. I'm beginning to think my
only solution is going to be to go buy a wireless router to connect, which
is just ridiculous. I shouldn't have to spend another $50-100 after I
already spent $100 on the **ahem** scale, just to get the thing to work. As I
read the boards, this is not an uncommon problem, why they can't just make
it to work like everything else does is beyond me!!! So tempted to just
return the **ahem** thing and say to heck with it!!
And so the solution in the end...had to go spend another $55 dollars on a wireless router in addition to the $100 I already spent on the scale...if the scale wasn't past the return date I would've just returned it! This is ridiculous that as a consumer I have to spend more money just to get your product to work properly Fitbit...definitely will not be recommending this to anyone anytime soon and certainly won't be purchasing anymore Fitbit products myself.

I have spent about 5 hours trying to merely change my Aria from FIOS to xfinity. After reading this string of posts and questions, I am giving up and using it as a unconnected scale. Will not buy another fitbit product.

So I am VERY lost! I just received a new Comcast router with two frequency bands (2.4 and 5). What do I need to do to make this work to connect it to my scale? By reading through some of these posts it looks like I need to make some changes in the router settings... but I'm unsure of what those changes need to be. Could someone just give me the super dumbed down instructions because I have now gotten extremely frustrated with this process.
Thanks!
Erin

@Johnzin @EYoung Thanks for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scales are not syncing with your new routers. I'd like to share @Erin5550's post which contains some troubleshooting steps that are very helpful for Xfinity/Comcast routers. It also explains what are the router settings needed for the setup process.
Keep me posted on the outcome my friend!

Thanks for the response but I have tried that. I'm not sure if Xfinity has changed their settings since that post but I don't have a b/g/n option. I just have g/n and n. We recently received a new router... is that maybe the problem? Any help?? I'm irritated with the cost of this scale and not being able to use it due to the error. 😐

@EYoung Thanks for getting back! I would like to know if you have contacted your Internet service provider in order to see if your router can be changed to b/g/n? Also, is the frequency of the router 2.4GHz?
Looking forward to your response my friend!

I have the most updated router and tried everything that people on here AND from Fitbit even putting the scale on my stand next to the router and still nothing. If I have to change something in my router just to get it to connect, I’ll just take it back. Way too much money spent on that and I am not going to mess up connection with my other devices just to get 1 to work. And nope, not buying the more expensive one either.
