I recently had to change out my wifi router. It is the exact same type as my previous router that was connected to the scale but for some reason this scale will not connect to the new router. Oh it was a nightmare connecting the scale to the first wifi as well, but I am over it. !!!!! I have been trying for three days. Shame on you fitbit for putting out such subpar material. some one needs to tell me how to fit this setup or I want my money back. My scale is saying that it has detected the networks but my network does not appear to connect to it. I should have bought a Withings scale. uggh.

@KMD23 Welcome to our Fitbit Community! Let me go ahead and follow up on the connection issues that your Aria scale is experiencing. Let me know the following details that will help me to determine the cause of the issue: Is your scale showing any error message when it tries to sync your data? What is the make and model of your router?
In the meantime, please make sure that your router has the settings that the Aria needs to connect. The settings needed are listed in this help article.
See you later!

The only REAL way to fix problems with Aria 1–REPLACEMENT!
Then only REAL way To solve your problems with AriA 1!after fighting with moderators, my cable company, and back channeling with other tech savvy users I finally have a solution:
Aria birthday replacement! I researched all the other options and this one had the best reviews and customer support. Next up: Apple Watch and NO MORE FitBit. And to think I asked for FitBit products for two birthdays and that worthless scale for Valentines Day. Terrible comp

No matter how many times I reset my Comcast modem, gateway, etc... My FitBit Aria 1 scale won't connect to my network anymore. This is really disappointing FitBit.
FitBit, can you please replace my scale with one that actually will work?

Yes, do yourself a favor and get a bluetooth scale. I got one from Amazon and I have never been so happy to be rid of the major headache of the Fitbit wifi nightmare that I put up with for months on end. I was totally convinced I could overcome the wifi connection problem. However, I am not willing to change the wifi in my home just to use a Fitbit product. My bluetooth scale sync the information over to the Fitbit app so there is really no reason to use the Fitbit scale. And my new scale was only about $40.00. I have had it for about 8 months and it still works like a charm. The Fitbit scale stills weighs me, so it works as a scale, however, I can't send the information anywhere. Don't get me wrong, I have used Fitbit products since they came out. I am wearing my tracker right now, it's just their scales leave a lot to be desired. They could improve them if they would just do it.
Hope this helps.

Too little, too late!
Whilst the Fitbit watch is a great product your Ariel scale has downgraded your companies reliability and customers expectations, it’s akin almost to the disaster that was windows 8!!!
we are not tech gurus just people who expect that when we buy a product it does not require more than a basic almost street level expertise to correct. Like the majority of other devices that are now on the market and require connection to the web to operate or wifi to work!!
Your expensive , what now is anyway, basic balance is now even being superseded by the likes of Big W and Kmart or like my replacement WW. Which was a third of the price and can provide my with additional features .

I have not seen one bit of improvement in the last THREE plus years this has been a problem, just look at the string!!!! JuanJo, your replies continue to be saccharine (and just as toxic) without providing any help.

I having the same problem you did. It either just quits while “connecting” and the scale turns itself off - or - my favorite, it will say I am done but then shows itself connected to the old router. I am cursing up a storm. Geez - I have been at this off and on for at least 3 hours.
How long should it take? My scale gets tired and shuts itself off before finishing

I used 2.4 GHz and made sure it was in range of the WiFi router. This seems to be the most stable connection in my house. Sometimes Bluetooth headphones and other devices use 2.4GHz. This may interfere with my WiFi. Which is the reason why I moved the scale away from my sons room where all the gaming devices are located.
It connects immediately. I used an iPhone and made sure the phone was on the same WiFi as the scale first.
Regards,
Allen

I’m having this same issue. I changed the password on my router and now my Aria won’t connect. I’m ready to throw this scale in the garbage. The initial set up was easy. I’ve been working on this for HOURS and I am beyond frustrated!
