I recently had to change out my wifi router. It is the exact same type as my previous router that was connected to the scale but for some reason this scale will not connect to the new router. Oh it was a nightmare connecting the scale to the first wifi as well, but I am over it. !!!!! I have been trying for three days. Shame on you fitbit for putting out such subpar material. some one needs to tell me how to fit this setup or I want my money back. My scale is saying that it has detected the networks but my network does not appear to connect to it. I should have bought a Withings scale. uggh.

I just had to change my wifi router and now I am completely unable to connect. It says Wifi ERR and then goes back into setup mode. I have tried everything on this website. This is the first time in 3 years I have experienced this problem. I am using a new Xfinity router. Any ideas why this would be happening. I will accept any kind of useful explanation??

I’ve tried the Android phone app and multiple browsers using the Fitbit web site. For me, the only thing that seems to work 100% of the time is the Aria Scale MacOS app from my MacBook Pro. It worked about 4 years ago and again a couple of weeks ago. From the Android phone app, I also received the wifi error. I do not have an iPhone.
Steps:
1. From an Apple laptop, open your favorite browser
2. Goto page https://www.fitbit.com/setup?platform=mac
3. Click “Download For Mac” at bottom of page
4. Download dmg file, clink to open, then click again to run the Aria application
5. Follow instructions

Just tried that - twice - and nothing. I have set up everything else in the house on the new network, this is the only piece of equipment I cannot seem to connect. Immensely frustrating. I have the scale for 3 years with no problems. Is the a firmware update I am missing? Mind you how could I download it without wifi???

I've been trying to setup my new scale for the last two hours with no luck. No Aria wifi signal shows up. What a complete poop show.
No Aria wifi shows up to connect to. I've tried with my Mac/laptop and iPhone, taken out the batteries numerous times. What a crap show. The only reason I haven't thrown it out is because my wife bought this for me and of course I asked for it.

I've been looking up these community posts hoping for a fix for my Aria scale. I have Comcast Xfinity's modem/router. I tried switching my Wi-Fi mode to 802.11 b,g,n but am still unable to connect. No network showing up during set-up. I see this has been an ongoing issue for almost two years. Has there been a reliable solution yet??? Does Fitbit offer customers a better replacement product that can actually connect?

I have tried since getting my new router about 40 times.. and nothing but a flashing setup active... or joining .. depending on which effort.
Since this his has been an issue for hundreds of people for YEARS... why hasn’t this been fixed?
This ia $125 waste of money...

The funny thing is, MOST have it figured out. That DOES NOT mean it's working; they've figured out they've been conned by a half-assed company who can't write software that practically EVER OTHER device that connects to in-home WIFI knows how to do, simply connect. The best piece of advice I can give? Think of Otter to Flounder in Animal House, "You **#@!&^**ed-up, you trusted Fitbit."
I dare anyone to scroll through these posts and help me see a different perspective........

Wow. Same issue here. Read through some of these threads and obviously understandable frustration. After 20 minutes of taking out the battery, putting it back in, watching the scale try to connect unsuccessfully, this is what worked for me: instead of the fairly new mobile device I was using for set-up (several years newer than the Aria itself)... I went to an old IPad to facilitate the set-up (thinking about the same age as my Aria and probably what I initially used during set-up when I first got the scale.) Anyway, worked the very first time I tried to sync scale to new router. I'm not a techie but maybe something in the older IOS that worked. For what it's worth-- good luck--

Thanks Gary001, I too had been trying for hours to set up to a new router with no luck.... very frustrating. After reading your message I pulled out an old iphone which was probanly used to set up initially several years ago.... guess what it worked first time. Thanks for the tip
