Aria can't connect to my new wifi

I recently had to change out my wifi router.  It is the exact same type as my previous router that was connected to the scale but for some reason this scale will not connect to the new router.  Oh it was a nightmare connecting the scale to the first wifi as well, but I am over it.  !!!!! I have been trying for three days.  Shame on you fitbit for putting out such subpar material.  some one needs to tell me how to fit this setup or I want my money back.  My scale is saying that it has detected the networks but my network does not appear to connect to it.  I should have bought a Withings scale. uggh.

Had the Aria connected to my old WiFi. Now a new one is installed. old router is not available. I cannot connect it in any possible way, spending over an hour now, what is this stupidity. I tried every possible advice int his thread - nothing works. I see Juan is answering with "Good Job". BS!!!

It will not connect to the new wifi in any way!

Get a fix for this connection and sync process...

@Stone520 @ColoGeo I'll be happy to assist you further. Please let me know what is the make and model of your router. In the meantime, please try resetting your router as advised @wubbledub. This workaround has turned out helpful.

See you guys later! Smiley Happy

Sad to say, that every single piece of fitbit equipment I have bought I have demanded a replacement, and I am the world's laziest shopper I never take things back.

Fitbit was fundemental to my pushing me to my weight loss. 60kg's and the charge 2, the aria and the flyer were really a massive part of the 'journey'. The products feel great, the cncept is great, they look great, but nothing works.

the first charge 2 I had, the heart rate monitor didn't work, I had to argue with them to replace it, which they did and I have never had an issue with the second one which I have battered around for a year

Albeit the charging is becoming a bit of a pain, due to the odd shape of their charger it is now a loose fit.

Scales, just stopped working, and then work when they feel like it, and don't work again, I'm not an i.t expert but equally I'm not an idiot, I wasted hours and hours following advice on here and I realised that it works as and when it wishes to. There's no science behind it. Resetting the modem works sometimes, it doesn't others.

Flyer should be brilliant, charge is great,m sound quality is fantastic, they look and feel great but they just keep breaking.

I've had to have 2 pairs replaced now.

They must spend an absolute fortune replacing poorly manufactured products. Next time I invest I will probably look at other brands.

I tossed my aria out totally. Very expensive paper weight

Bought a weight watches scale for a third of the price. App is great
connects every time and readout clear and bright not like the one on aria.

cheers

I had the same issue and got it resolved.   This is my transcript from my chat session.   Took a bit of digging to find the settings on the internet provider page but once I found them, this worked!  Hopefully saves someone else some grief!   I was ready to toss this scale which has worked great for a few years now.

Me (7/4/2018, 11:25:05 AM): I saw a note in a help forum that Aria will not work with WPA-2, is that correct?
- (7/4/2018, 11:25:07 AM): Thanks for let me know it is facing difficulties to connect to your WiFi network now that you have updated your router.
- (7/4/2018, 11:26:09 AM): Actually, Aria connects to your wireless home network and works with any Wi-Fi router that uses the following standards:
- (7/4/2018, 11:26:14 AM): - WEP / WPA / WPA2 personal security
- (7/4/2018, 11:26:29 AM): - 802.11b frequency at 2.4 Ghz setting
- (7/4/2018, 11:26:35 AM): - Automatic (DHCP) IP setup (static IP configurations are not supported
Me (7/4/2018, 11:26:36 AM): I go through all the setup steps and get error joining when switching back to my network
Me (7/4/2018, 11:26:47 AM): how do I know what I have?
- (7/4/2018, 11:28:10 AM): For that, you can consult your router's manual or contact your internet provider.
- (7/4/2018, 11:28:22 AM): We don't have access from here to check on the WiFi settings.
Me (7/4/2018, 11:28:29 AM): ok, my husband says we have dhcp, WPA2 personal security
- (7/4/2018, 11:29:22 AM): Yes, the DHCP configuration is not supported.
Me (7/4/2018, 11:29:47 AM): Luis: - Automatic (DHCP) IP setup (static IP configurations are not supported
- (7/4/2018, 11:29:51 AM): I can suggest to check with your internet service provider about the possibility to change this to WEP / WPA / WPA2.
Me (7/4/2018, 11:29:55 AM): which is supported?
Me (7/4/2018, 11:30:41 AM): seems fitbit should offer an update to meet today's standards
Me (7/4/2018, 11:30:54 AM): this scale is now a worthless **ahem** to me
- (7/4/2018, 11:31:24 AM): The ones supported for this are WEP / WPA / WPA2.
- (7/4/2018, 11:31:35 AM): May I know the name of your internet service provider?
Me (7/4/2018, 11:31:37 AM): you said WPA2 personal security which I have
Me (7/4/2018, 11:31:41 AM): comcast
- (7/4/2018, 11:33:01 AM): Yes, the WPA2 is supported; what is not supported is the dhcp you have mentioned during your comment above.
Me (7/4/2018, 11:33:36 AM): ok, I guess we're done then
- (7/4/2018, 11:33:55 AM): I have a workaround you may consider to try there based on the internet service provider you have.
Me (7/4/2018, 11:34:20 AM): ok, thanks. what is that?
- (7/4/2018, 11:35:04 AM): You are very welcome Norma.
- (7/4/2018, 11:35:10 AM): Here are the steps to follow:
- (7/4/2018, 11:35:11 AM): - Log into comcast/xfinity account
- Once logged in,  visit https://internet.xfinity.com/more
- Edit wifi settings under "Additional Settings"
- Click on 2.4 frequency edit button.
- Select g/n, hit save.
- When the screen refreshes, click edit again, select b/g/n and hit save.

Then I was able to reconnect per their standard instructions.  🙂

@ColoGeo I just got mine resolved after weeks of frustration.  I posted my solution, hopefully it helps you too.  So aggravating!!

I'm having the same issue, new router and it wont connect.  Im so beyond angry at this company's lack of any real response or concern.  No sign of any pride in their product or business.  I will never give them anymore of my money and I will tell everyone I know, and people I don't know about this.  Don't buy the Versa, its poorly designed and it breaks.  They wont help you replace the screen either.  Don't buy this STUPID scale either.  So not worth the money.

The last time I got it to synch I used a different device than my phone.  In my case I used my Kindle FIre and followed the steps and it worked.  I don't know if it will again, or maybe my phone will work next time I change batteries.  Good luck! I lover it when it works.
