Blaze Clock Display

Fitbit. Why can't the time be displayed at all times on Blaze!!! Very annoying. Going from surge where I could always know what time it is back to a blank screen (and NO. It does not always turn on when I move my wrist to check time. Only occasionally does it do that). Better update soon to make that an option.
And while you're at it. Make the swipe to steps right there. Jeesh. Have to swipe to Today then look. Really awkward and unconvenient.

I work in the health care field and wear my Blaze everyday for work.  I would like the option to keep the clock face on for situations such as when I am trying to take a patient pulse for 1 minute.  I am unable to do so both by using the clock and the stopwatch option without the display automatically disappearing unless I tap the button or move my arm (which both provide a distraction during my measurements).   As for draining the battery, I feel that it should be an option for the user to decide.

So is there an actual fix for this, to keep display on? Or not yet.

Annoyingly this option only seems possible with a bug! Been wearing my new Blaze for a few days now and was reluctant to complain straight away about the clock face not being constant (or having the option of being constant) as wanted to see if there was method to the madness. But for me at least there is not! Constant clock-face on is a must-have option, I'm not too concerned about battery draining, if its a configurable option people can choose what suits them in retlation to battery drain (constant on/off, brightness etc..).

Not sure if my Quick View is slow or normal but also find it slow to light up.

My Blaze gets noticed while out and about and when people ask what it is its kind of embarrasing to raise the watch to them only for them to be presented with a dark screen. I'm sure it puts people off considering the Blaze too when the primary aim of a watch (telling the time) is not easily achieved. I'm still glad I purchased it but honestly would not recommend it to others until this feature is addressed.

Really hoping FitBit listen to the many people on here requesting this feature.

100% same issues. I don't know what motion I need to use to make the clock appear when I raise my wrist, but it's not working well. Have to double tap on the screen, very out of the way to have to do this, especially on the flagship of fitbit. Hopefully they notice these forums and complaints and do something about it. Has anyone tweeted about it?

Best Answer

Really don't get this issue with the display. Mine works fine pretty much every time I look at it, plus you can press the button on the side as well...

Having it on all the time won't just mean you need to recharge it every day (at least) rather than once or twice a week. Recharging every day will lessen the life of the battery and then people will start complaining about that.

Is it really that hard to flick your wrist or push a button?

Best Answer

"Is it really that hard to flick your wrist or push a button?" - Yes. When spending approx €200 on a device whose primary function is to tell the time any manual action other than turning the face of the watch to your line of vision to know the time is a design fail.

Best Answer

Well all I can say is a flick of the wrist is enough for me and works perfectly well on mine so either you're doing somethImg wrong or your Blaze is faulty...

So just to add, I've been waiting for my daughter whilst she shops with some friends and sitting trying different ways to get the display to light up.

I can pretty much do it with any relatively small movement including having my arm on my lap and rolling my arm to see the display so all I can reiterate is that it works as it should.

I really can't see why anyone would find that a problem, sorry.

I wish my blaze would light up with quick view or when I tap it or press a button. It only works about 50% of the time. Very annoying!!!

and I agree it would be nice to see steps etc. without hitting today first. It's not like there is an option for any other days results.

I'm on my second blaze pebble- the last one heart rate stopped working. I also had a charge hr, which the charging adapter broke and was not able to get fixed. Starting to think Fitbit's aren't the way to go!!!

Unless I twist my arm all the way over to face it directly towards me, the screen remains off. For me, I don't want to have to move my arm any particular direction to see what time it is. Kind of like a real watch, you can glance at it without waiting for it to turn on, or move your arm to a perfect position for it to recognize. I know, "So get a real watch", but I like the blaze, it's extremely comfortable, and it does a lot of stuff that I like too. Just wish there was an option to have the display dimmed or always on, just like the fit bit surge... The surge is just too bulky to wear under coats or long sleeves though, and in Maine, it was -4 and 0 degrees today, so you bet I was in a coat and a long sleeve!

The fitbit Surge uses LCD's and there ore hardly any powee, many watches use this technology. The Blaze uses LED technology which consumes hundreds of more power. I have never seen an LED watch that keeps the screen on, the apple doesnt

Yes this does bug me too it doesn't always display when I move my wrist and I hate having to tap it to see the display

The click display is too quick. Perhaps when you hit the left hand button it can stay in for 1 full minute?  As an RN I need it as I wear my Fitbit rather than a watch...I don't want to have to wear both.  Can you at least have it as an option in settings?  I had no idea it would only be displayed for a few seconds. I am hoping you can solve this issue.

Why does time not stay on

I am also a little disappointed that there is no option to keep the display on during a workout. Should be an option.

The arm up display during the workout seems to work for me about 75% of the time. When you are doing an intense cardio workout and want to check your hear rate, this isnt a problem that you want to deal with.

Coming from the discontinued "Lemon" that was the Microsoft Band... this, and the fact that you cant name your workouts are the only features that I miss from the Band. Asside from that, the Blaze is great!

I spoke to customer service and they said since the battery and watch were
not designed to leave the screen on all the time it was not put in as an
option. I told them that I wanted at least the option to leave the screen
on all the time, at least as a toggle. They said the developers may put it
out in a release if we post on the forum for updates.

Agree wholeheartedly with the comments here, not having the option to have the display permanently on is infuriating.  Please provide update asap, it makes me not want to recommed this device.  The wrist-turn works about 1 in 4 attempts and I feel like an idiot constantly turning my wrist in the hope that this watch will perform its most basic function and tell me the **ahem** time.

It's a good thing that the button on the side is easily pushed to display
the time as well...

Currently there isnt a single watch made that has an LED display that will always sray ion. This is not something unique to Fitbits., look at tye AW, infact it has been this way since the first LED watch was nade back in the 1970''s.

This fact has me totally cunfused by the mood of this thread, now if you don't mind charging up at least, if it can last 20 hours, a day. Its been reported that a stuck on display only lasts 6-8 hours. It mihht be possible to laat longer in a dark room, since tge Blaze has a sensor to control the brightness of the lights.

An option for the display to "always on" should be added when having an exercise. Otherwise why to wear it if you cannot see live your heart rate? For example when you are rawing or weightlifting or when you are on a plank position or making push-ups you cannot turn your hand in order to see the watch. If the problem is the battery, I would prefer to charge my blaze every day if I can have this feature.
