9/23 Update:
See the new firmware thread here
9/22 Update:
For those that have the firmware update already, new clock faces have been re-enabled.
We've continued the rollout process. If you don't yet have the update, please be patient. We'll post updates about the rollout when we have more information.
9/19 Update:
Hey everyone - it seems like we're struggling to maintain civil conversation on this topic, so I'm going to go ahead and lock the thread. We'll open a new thread once the firmware update goes into wider distribution. Until then, here are answers to the questions that keep getting asked here:
When will I be able to download the latest update?
The update is on hold while our team addresses an issue found at the beginning of the release. Once their work is complete, we will start rolling it out again. We generally don't announce specific dates or timeframes, but you will see the update on your dashboard as soon as it is available. The only thing you need to do right now is wait patiently.
Why did you release the latest update to only a small percentage of users?
We've done tons of testing on this new firmware, but there can still be unexpected issues when we release it. If every Blaze customer updated at once, those surprises would affect everyone. Instead, we use an incremental release to observe and address issues on a relatively small scale. We definitely want the best experience possible for our Blaze customers, and a slow, cautious release helps accomplish that goal.
If only 5% of Blaze users have the update now, does that mean 10% will have it next week and 15% will have it the week after? Won't that take forever?
Nope! We aren't moving in 5% increments. We started the release at 5% and will increase it in much larger increments once we are confident that it's good to go. You should receive it soon.
Why haven't you communicated this information to customers?
All this information was previously posted in this thread, and also added to the lead post. Any time you find a discussion of an emerging issue or a newly-released update, make sure to check the first post for the latest information. We aim for clear, concise, transparent, and frequent communication - you should always find what you need in the lead post.
9/15 Update:
The new Blaze update is currently available only to a very small percentage of users, as we are troubleshooting some emerging issues. It will be released more widely soon. Once it is available, you will see a banner at the top of your website or mobile app dashboard. Thanks for your patience!
Hey everyone!
We're rolling out a new update for Blaze, release notes below:
This release also resolves the following issue:
Important to note: A sync is required after a manual shutdown or a battery drain in order to show the correct time on Blaze. This is especially important for your activity tracked by Blaze because you'll want to make sure it's associated with the current date and time.
The initial wave of users will receive the update starting September 12th, 2016, and will eventually be rolled out to everyone within a few days. If the update to the latest firmware version is not yet available for your Blaze, just hang tight!

I think the problem is that someone made a public announcement promising the update would be out in September and their R&D weren't ready to release it. Because of the promise they've rushed it out incomplete and are now paying the price and risking their credibility.

I'm not getting notifications anymore even though they are enabled. The only 2 apps I have for notifications are email and fitbit plus text messages. What makes me annoyed is the fact that we have to hear "What Fitbit is doing or saying" from someone on this board instead of a someone from Fitbit themselves like maybe an official release statement or something like that. I don't care what people think that Apple Watch is looking better and better. With the latest release it has everything I was looking for initially. Unless the Blaze has or gets some really good features next year my Blaze will join the pile of watches in my drawer that eventually go to thrift store.

Is it safe to assume that this update is no longer being offered?

I have to say that I am very happy with the new update. Updated very fast and the all of the new clocks were there at first but now are gone. I understand that they will be back soon. 3rd party notifications work great and so do the reminders to move.

My update went smoothly. Everything works great EXCEPT I don't have the new clock faces.

It's interesting. I am in the testing program for FitBit (before anyone asks how, they invited me) and I have a blaze and an iPhone. I was not tapped to do any beta testing on this firmware update.

My Blaze performed the update yesterday (I presume successfully) and I now have the reminder to move which is great but no new clock face or anything about email notifications. Is this being rolled out gradually?

Indeed, there hes been zero testing for this firmware.
I hope the people that got stuck in an infinite reboot loop still can get their Blaze fixed.

I really love the update. It took only 8 min. until it was updatet. The notifications are great and I love it. Now I'm waiting for my apps sending the first notification after the update. Here are two pics:

As my Blaze tracker did not sync properly for more than one week, I really need the firmware update.
I have browsed the internet and this community, but I still could not find where I could execute the firmware update? I am running on Windows 10. Please advise to me, from what menu I could find the update command (please show the screenshot). Thank you for your help and support.

Hi @SanFit - This update is being released on waves. When the update is available to you, you will see an update banner on your phone app. You won't be able to miss it!

Any idea when this is going to hit the UK and the Charge HR's?

@JessieA87 I don't think it's going to hit Charge HRs at all. They may add features to the Charge HR eventually, but it doesn't have the screen for some of these features.
As for the UK, I don't think they're rolling it out by region, in fact, I would be surprised if they are, as they probably have server farms in different locations and are trying to spread the downloading out a bit geographically.
I always get everything last, is all I can tell you.
