Blaze can provide Call, Text, and Calendar notifications so that you can stay connected!

This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Blaze, please see this help page

Setup Steps:

  1. Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices
  2. On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby! Note that you'll only receive notifications on your tracker when your mobile device is within this radius.
  3. Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile dashboard.
  4. Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap Notifications, and then turn on call notifications.
  5. To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear.

Using Alerts:

You can easily see all of your alerts by swiping up from the home screen. Here, you'll see previous incoming calls, text messages for the day, and calendar alerts as well. You may delete these alerts either individually or all at once.

Notes

  • For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App. Please also ensure that message preview is toggled on in your phone's settings, as this should help populate the message content.
  • iOS users should allow reception of text notifications in their Notification Center settings, in addition to the workflow for alerts in the Fitbit app for iOS.
  • Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or select 3rd party apps on Android.
  • Windows Phones don't support alerts at this time.
  • Fitbit trackers currently don't support emojis. Notifications containing emojis will show a blank square, instead of the emoji that was sent.
  • Text messages won't show up if the message app is open on your phone.
  • When using Message+, your Fitbit tracker will show a notification that looks something like this: (Contact Name – 1 New Message). This is because when messages are received in Message+, they're stored that way in the notifications center on Android.
  • If you receive more than one text message in succession from the same person, your tracker may group the messages together as "2 New Messages" or "3 New Messages" instead of showing a preview of the message text.

@Danielleray1 first read and follow the instruction in FIT NOTIFICATIONS. And you probably have to restart your phone.

Seems like many samsung phones are having problem with sms notifications. Have you tried installing a different sms viewer, Google messenger or Hangouts could be the answer to your problems. Looks like theres something with samsungs sms viewer that causes the blaze reciving an sms several times.

I have Galaxy s-6 also, never got multiple messages, only uses messages, not message +, I hate hangouts, stopped using it, but it might be the cause for multiples

I don't think it is the phone as much as what message app you use. I have a note 5. With chomp sms I got double messages. With phone message app I get a single message, expected behavior. BTW, thanks to those who recommended fit notification. Works great!

Any ideas on why this is.

Are your settings correct @Daigle16, the first thing i can think of, is it enables in the notifacation panel?

I received a Blaze as a gift two days ago. Yesterday, text messages appeared on my Blaze, but today they do not. I just spent an hour on chat with FitBit support and the issue was not resolved at all. Because this unit is from a store that only allows 10 days for returns, I probably won't be able to wait for the escalation team to respond. Smiley Sad

The notifacation not appearing most likely has bothing to do with the Blaze. Hold the top right button until the music control screen pops up. Make sure notifacations are turned on.

Without knowing the phone type i can only point you to general help.

With the fit notification app can anyone tell me... When you receive two messages will it give you each message individually or will it just say two new messages? I like message plus because it lists every message so i can read them all as they came in but lately it's been sending each message five times. So I switched to handcent which works great except if you receive two messages it doesn't list them both it will just say two new messages and list the names who they are from. Thanks!

When receiving notifications, my fitbit constantly buzzes every couple of moments and sends me a new notification until I physically remove my phone from my pocket and acknowledge the notification.  It would be nice if I could acknowledge the notiffication from my watch so i don't get harrassed by it until I reach for my phone.  I'm using a fitbit Blaze with an HTC ONE M9 Android phone.

Did you ever get an answer for this? I have had this "issue" since the last update and it is driving me nuts!

Please let me know if you know what to do. I have the Blaze and Note 5.

Thanks,

Douglas D.

I returned mine to the store. I never got any support on this or on the
other issues either.

Since there are several calender apps on android, it would be helpful to know which one is being used.
