Blaze damaged screen

The glass in the Blaze is extremely thin\brittle

Having loved my Flex and the previous support I had received from Fitbit, I decided to upgrade to a Blaze last week.  I had the Blaze for two days & managed to scratch it on the edge of some rocks.  I always put a screen protector on my phones\small tech devices.  However, I hadn't had the chance yet.  Initially, the damage was just the top, upper right of the display.  However, now, there is a big diagonal crack covering at least a third of the display.  The glass is so thin, the scratches literally caused the glass to crack.

I put a Zagg invisible shield for a Surge on it to hopefully hold it together.  Zaggs are the best protector out there in my opinion.

At any rate, Fitbit support offered a 25% discount on a new one.  Why would I spend an additional $150 on a product that cracks this easily?  Being a device that's worn on the wrist, it's going to get bumped around.  I would be willing to spend a few bucks to have it repaired, but, not $150.  I love this product, but, the lack of durability has me seriously doubting I would ever buy another Fitbit...

I've had my Blaze since the beginning of March. A band pin dislodged and it fell off my wrist. Luckily it landed squarely face down on the concrete with no damage. I decided to invest in a screen protector. I'm glad I did. One day while in my truck I undid the seatbelt and the metal latch struck the screen of my Blaze and put a nice gouge in the screen protector. I removed the screen protector and all was good. Put a new protector on and good to go.

The Blaze has Gorilla glass 3, whereas my phone has Gorilla glass 4. I'm assuming since the Blaze screen is so small that the glass is thinner and not as sturdy as a phone display making it more prone to cracking.

I realize there are people that don't use screen protectors on any of their devices with no problems, but I'm a believer and want to protect my investment.

The glass on my fitbit blaze is craked. I dont even know how it happened.
Other than that it is working without any issue!!

I contacted support center and they offered me 25% discount and that to me is very unfair. What is the guarantee that spending $160-180 again will solve the problem?

Really not happy with this!

I also have a cracked screen, though in my case, I'm not certain that it was due to thin or brittle glass.  I think, instead, that it's a result of the design of the bezel that holds the device.  While it looks good, it offers no protection to the top or bottom edges of the screen, allowing minimal impacts to cause significant damage.

I contacted support about repairing the device, and while I'm pleased to read that some of you have had great experiences with support, I wasn't so lucky.  I was offerred a 25% discount on a new device with no option to repair the old one.  It's a nice device, but certainly not worth another $150.

Fitbit support wasn't able to direct me to anyone who services their devices, so I thought that I might try asking the community.  Has anyone seen or used a 3rd party to repair their device?

My screen cracked as well and all customer support offered was 25% off! I don't understand how some cracks are deemed worthy of replacement and others not. It barely touched the bathroom counter as I was placing it there when I took it off and it cracked. IMG_2273.JPG

I purchased a Fitbit blaze in February, have had two prior Fitbit HR. Never had issues with them, until now. I can see that I am not the only one with issues with the blaze. I just banged it on a wall while walking and the screen cracked. The screen is so brittle. I called Fitbit support and was absolutely upset and disappointed when they said all they can do is give me 25% discount. Why would i buy the same product again if it breaks like this?

I've have had my Fitbit Blaze a year and love it, however a crack has recently appeared in the screen.

I don't know how the crack occurred, but since the crack appeared, the device loses its charge in less than 24hours!

As its a year old, I could get away with carrying on using the Blaze with the crack, but I can't carry on using it with the charge problem.

Please can you let me know if any support can be offered?

thanks

I've had the same problem with a cracked screen   They said it isn't covered.  I would have definitely have paid $50 or so to have it repaired but they won't offer that    My problem now is that it stopped working all together   It was working after I noticed the cracks but when I went to recharge it , it won't light up or turn on.   I'm afraid they're going to think I'm lying if I contact them again    I'm so disappointed.  I really loved my blaze but can't afford to buy a new one 😔 I used it every day as a fitness instructor ☹️IMG_1665.JPG

I vouch for Liquid Armor. Bought my new Samsung Galaxy S3 and got it liquid armored ASAP. Can't see ANY scratches and phone still looks like new. I will be taking my new Charge 3 to Staples tonight to Liquid Armor it. I also had warranty work done on my phone and they didn't say anything.

I had the same problem Fitbit would only give a 25% on a new one. My wife found a company called Joe’s in Maple Falls, Wa. They repaired my screen for $60 with free shipping. Got it all done in less than 7 days with a100 day  guarantee great service.
