ISSUE: Can't sync or pair Blaze with an iOS device

BLAZE FIRMWARE VERSIONS AFFECTED: (8.301.7) & (8.200.3)

iOS VERSIONS AFFECTED: 10.2.x

*** FIXED IN BLAZE FIRMWARE VERSION (8.301.8) ***

Still having trouble? Can't update or sync?

Read the difference between unbonding and unpairing first:

Unbonding - going into the bluetooth settings of your iPhone or iPad, selecting the Blaze, then choosing "Forget This Device".

Unpairing - going into the Fitbit app, selecting the Blaze, then choosing "Remove This Blaze".

*** DO NOT DO THIS TO TROUBLESHOOT THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE ***

Now that you've read that, try unbonding BEFORE trying to update your Blaze firmware (see screenshots below):

  1. Go to your iOS device's Settings > Bluetooth > Find Blaze in the "My Devices" list.
  2. Tap the info icon and tap "Forget this Device".

Okay, I've unbonded. Now what?

Try syncing your Blaze, then try to update the firmware.

Still can't sync or update? Here are some suggestions:

  1. Try doing some standard sync troubleshoots
  2. Sync/update using an alternate device (if possible)

Updated on 1/20/17 for clarity.

So you have been working on this for 5 days now. My device worked fine until I trusted that the iOS version 10.2 word be better than or equal to the old version. I can no longer use my device. This reminds me of the BlackBerry system crash a few years ago that pretty much destroyed that company, and they had their systems back up and running within 24 hours. Get your thumb out and get this fixed.

Do we have an Idea when this issue will be resolved.  Its very frustrating to not be able to use and sync my watch not to mention that is has the incorrect time so I can not wear it.

Thank you

Removing and resyncing worked for me as well. My time was updated and all the info from my tracker now syncs on my phone.

Since updating to 10.2 I no longer get audible mileage messages while running. Is this a related issue?

How long will the data stay on the watch before it's gone?

I've had this happen to me! I just had to keep trying to find it and after a lot of frustration it managed to find it but is now having problems again.

I think 8 days is enough time for patience,  when do the refunds start for Blaze 2's that don't deliver to IOS as promised?

Hey iOS users,

We're aware of a syncing issue with Blaze if you've updated your device's OS version to 10.2. Please be patient while our engineers work on a fix!

I'll update the thread when I have more information.

I'm just here so that I know when you all fix the bug, because it was driving me crazy! I was ready to return my device!

So I've done everything your tech people have said. Disconnected and forgot the device and re synced and it updated the time back to normal but is still not syncing anything else yet again and losing communication again. My blaze has been rendered useless and still no updates from Fitbit. What gives??!

I agree. 8 days is too long. I would really like to use my Fitbit. This is getting ridiculous.

To fix mine, I went to settings>Bluetooth> then click on the Blaze and forget it. Then repair it once you have disconnected it.
