Fitbit Blaze not charging

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got my Blaze. The set up was fine until I started charging it. The battery icon never showed on the screen. I also have a Charge and it charged using the same computer an hour before. Anyone have a problem charging the Blaze?

Thank you, I was able to get it to work based on your tip. It was key that you said it really was charging even though it looked like it wasn't. 🙂

Hi - I think this is what I've discovered too!! The blaze doesn't appear to be charging however as soon as its synced with the phone it updates !

Going to try again this evening and hope that is the case 🙂

Mine didn't work with just syncing, try rebooting from the screen if the sync alone doesn't work.  Good luck!

Hey everyone, glad to see a few resolutions and positive experiences with our Support Team here!

A few tips:

  • Blaze should have a battery indicator on-screen when plugged into the charging cable. This should give you a better idea of where your battery life is at when you put it on the charger.
  • Blaze will last up to 5 days, depending on usage. Users who perform the occasional activities with GPS and check their display less frequently than the power users with multiple GPS activities a day should see a battery lasting closer to those 5 days.
  • The above isn't to say we're not looking and supporting cases of battery draining quickly. If you believe that your batteyr is draining too quickly for normal usage (>48 hours) or so, please reach out to our Support Team, who is always more than happy to take a look.

Got my Fitbit blaze today and couldn't get it to charge.  After reading this forum plugged it into the wall to charge instead of the computer and I was then able to update and use my fitbit!  Held down left button while booted up...but don't know if that did anything.  So excited to run with it tomorrow!

I'm having the same problem, but the issue is that I cannot setup, update and sync the fitbit because it says "battery too low" and cancels the update. But device refuses to charge.......

As others have mentioned, are you using your phones wall charger, and inserting correctly?

My fitbit Blaze will not charge. It doesn't even show the screen where you can see the battery. I have tried for two days to get it to charge. Ive read some replies in hope that it will help but nothing yet :(((

Any suggestions?

My tip would be to scroll up 4 posts from yours and read the tips @EmersonFitbit posted, if none of them work his last tip gives instructions on how to contact firbit

My blaze gave me the battery charge icon. As it was late, I left it overnight. This morning it appears that it did not charge at all. Now I have to wait 2 more hours before I can use it. It seems the cradle is not tight enough to maintain a connection. Rather it allows the unit to move slightly causing the charging issues.

I had this issue at first. Make sure it's plugged into a COMPUTER, and that you're on the CLOCK screen before you begin charging. Also make sure everything is facing the correct direction.

The battery is showing for me, but definitely not for 15 seconds. Seems to be a severe bug in the product.

I'm having the exact same problem - just got a Blaze yesterday and I can't get it to charge. It doesn't seem to fit right into the charging cradle (and I do have it in there correctly). I've tried every USB port on my computer as well as my iPhone's wall charger with no luck. I just chatted with customer service and they've put another charger in the mail for me. Really disappointing, as I was quite excited to use the Blaze this weekend. I'm a longtime Fitbit user but am just about at the end of my rope with all the product flaws. My last Fitbit was a Charge, and in the past  year I've gotten three replacements due to the bands/housing falling apart within a few months. I was offered a discount on another Fitbit after my year warranty ran out and used it on the Blaze, hoping there wouldn't be problems with it too. The customer service is great, but I'd really love to not have to use it so often.

Needs to be restarted. It worked for me.

I tried a restart - didn't work on mine. I think mine is a cradle problem- a few other people said theirs didn't fit in the cradle securely, and mine wasn't either. It's wobbly even with the lid closed, so it's probably not connecting. And it is turned around the right way.

It doesn't feel like it necessarily fits in there perfectly; believe me, I
spent hours messing with it before it worked. I was caught in that state
between trying to update the software and charge the blaze at the same
time. It eventually worked.

Many Thanks,

I'm hoping maybe it will work on my laptop - I've tried it with my desktop at work, and it's plugged into the wall with my iPhone charger right now - I was hoping it was actually charging despite the lack of the charging icon, but it doesn't look like it. At least I'm not trying to update the software too! Very annoying  - I was really looking forward to using it today and this weekend.

I've messed around with mine all morning too! Right now I've got a piece of paper between the lid and the Blaze, hoping that will secure it since somebody else said that worked for them. Of course I put the paper over the screen so I can't tell if anything is actually happening!
