Hour with 250+ Steps missing after sync?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So I complete the hours with 250+ steps, with my Blaze showing the 250 steps completed and then after syncing with iphone app it now shows the hour as not completed 250+ steps??

I've had this problem, except my Blaze continued to show 14/14 hours, while the dashboard continued to show 13/14 hours, even after several syncs. I think it's related to a timing issue, as another user mentioned. If you're just at 250 for the hour at the end of the hour, the Blaze may think you completed it, but the dashboard might have a slight time shift and think you missed.

It's frankly very silly. I'm not sure where the dashboard is getting its information from, except from the tracker.

My dashboard also frequently shows a resting heart rate a beat faster than my Blaze.

MY blaze recognizes I did over the 250 steps per hour while my app even hours later still thinks I didn't make it for one hour. Wish I could add screenshots. This is not a "it just hasn't synched yet" issue.

Hi there @GG007. Good to see you around! 🙂

Thank you for notifying of this issue. I will try to see if I find more users experiencing the same problem to determine what is going on and also see if this is a known problem. In the meantime, I can suggest restarting your tracker by pressing and holding the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds and then use it as you would normally do and see if this works.

I have had it happen twice, both times it showed as reaching 250 on the blaze, but after a sync later it never showed up.  One was frustrating becasue I was 13 for 13.  Both times were when I was up and moving just to get to 250 for that hour, so maybe there is a couple of step discrepancy from the watch and the app?

That's what I'm wondering - or if there is some sort of time problem.  I have noticed that when I'm being shorted an hour of 250+ steps in the app (but it's showing on the watch), it does happen to be when I started to get those steps in when it was towards the end of the hour.  The time on both my watch and phone are correct, but today the FitBit app didn't register the the hourly activity for 11am.  I was at work during that time and didn't get those 250+ steps in until about 10:55am.

Agree that the times I have seen this are when you just get the number of steps in before the hour expires.

I just find it astounding that the dashboard is just supposed to be reporting information handed to it by the tracker and it decides to do something else entirely instead.

I have experienced the same thing right after the update. I contacted customer support a few weeks ago and they seem to be working on it.

Here are my observations about this odd behaviour:

- if you stop at exactly 250 steps as per Blaze's display, the app will not record this as an active hour

-  it doesn't matter when during the course of the hour you log your 250 steps

- if you want your steps to count in the app, walk an extra ~20 steps beyond 250 (ever since I started doing this, I've never experienced the mismatch again)

My theory is that the step variation tolerance built into the unit itself is higher than what's built into the app. The app seems to override the unit's assessment. So, it's possible that the unit awards you an active hour when you have only walked 245 steps or so (again, this is a theory, I am not privvy to the actual algorithm), because it's close enough. The app, however, may only award an active hour at exactly 250 steps (or, maybe at something like 248). If you have a mismatch, the app uses its own algorithm to award the active hour.

Anyway, I hope this is fixed because it's pretty annoying. Not that I mind walking the extra few steps, but if my unit says I got awarded an active hour, the app should agree. It's pretty silly otherwise.

Hello,

Still many discrepancies, as you can see.  Getting a little frustrated that this has not been fixed.  I was very active around 1PM, but did not get credit for doing so.  Please see the attached.  Thank you20161106_143434.jpgScreenshot_20161106-143405.pngScreen Shot 2016-11-06 at 2.47.36 PM.png

This happened to me today; I got 12/12 on my device, and only 10/12 on my phone. Very annoying given that it was otherwise a "perfect" day. That one box didn't go green, despite doing everything right.

Same with me for about a week now.

@miss_c I believe you are on the right track.. Because I noticed this discrepancy on my Blaze, I have been logging all of my 250 step/hour readings. I have found that if you do a catch up of steps at the start or the end of an hour this error creeps in if you are borderline. The example below shows a typical error. This is slightly different because the Dashboard has the error, Blaze was OK even though the steps are there in the Activity Log..

That is why I have created a suggestion at this link to increase the 10 minute warning to be similar to a silent alarm. When you have a full challenge board there are notifications coming in all of the time and the 10 minute step count warning gets lost in those. Especially when you happen to be on a complex problem and overlook the warning.  Alas it has only attracted 12 votes...

I have checked all of the clocks on my Android, Windows 7, the Blaze and the World Time clock and there is only 2 seconds lag on the Blaze. This is in Melbourne Australia.

Same problem woith sync inaccuaracy has been happening for more than two weeks ( often losing 2 or 3 250+ step hours during sync) -- and today, even worse, before syncing with my computer the Blaze showed about 135000 steps and 9 out of 9 hours with 250+ steps.  After syncing, the number of steps was recorded on the dashboard as around 9,500 (!) AND that number now appeared on the Blaze itself ( even though the still  green step icon indicated that I had reached my goal of 10,000 steps).  So what hapened to those 3000 steps?  Also three of the 250+ step hours were also deleted, even though I had in fact walked more than 250 steps in each of those hours?.   So why can'y the numbers recorded by the Blaze be synced directly to dashboard without loss?  Never had this kind of problem with Fitbit One. Very annoying.

I frequently have this issue, and I have tried to reset the tracker. Just today my Blaze says I've had 250 steps for 2 hours (so far) and the app is not matching up. So frustrating!

@NDY41 at 135,000 steps today, did you really go 60+ miles?

Yes @LPark27 Fitbit has said there is a problem with the app, and they are working on it. When you go to www.fitbit.com does the active hours properly show.
