My wrist band keeps breaking!

ANSWERED

After having my charge two for a week, the part of the band that attaches to the actual Fitbit broke. I got a new one, but it broke in the exact same exact spot. Would my warranty still cover another one since I just got it replaced? And what can I do to stop this from happening? It hasn't even been a month since I've purchased it and only seems to last a week before the wristband breaks.

Hi USAF-Larry

I am sorry to say while I agree that the Charge 2 is good product.

The quality of the wrist strap is sub standard and is unacceptable, especially in a such a competitive environment.

My wrist strape broke and so was my daughters we are not "Iron man, triathlon  fanatic exercisers  " we are just above average cardio keep fit guys.

There is a design fault the metal clip is half metal and half plastic and that was the exact area were both straps broke.

Can someone help me by letting us know who to write to in the fitbit corporation to rectify this and to send us two new strapes

Thank you so much for your kind advice

Best wishes

Raouf

They don’t care this has been going on for a long time if they cared they would have done something about it. It’s funny how another company seems to have made a band that holds up, maybe it’s Fitbit a under a different name so they have to admit they made a bad product

Go to their website and do a Live Chat. I've done that several times, and
their customer support is very good.

My second band just broke. So many of them break, the stores cannot keep a supply of the replacements. I will have to try a gluing solution. The plastic part is the weak link.

I received my fitbit alta almost 2 years ago. First band lasted a few months and was replaced under warranty, after much effort on my part. 2nd came apart with a few months.  I am currently on my 8th band.  They don't last. I am careful with it, remove it before showers, etc. Clean it, but still, the plastic/silicone latches always break off.  A very poor design, should have been a flex metal connection.

I am really disappointed, and have suggested to friends not to purchase.

I read the post to try amazon...Been there, done that. They last 2-3 months tops. If you're lucky.  tried different vendors. Same-same.

It really pathetic that FITBIT wont replace my wristband that is defective, Im 1 month out of warranty. Im not asking for refund, just replacement band. This is my 2nd device I have purchased from them. You can see by all the comments and complaints that the band is inferior and a problem with Charge 2 if so many people are having the same issue. Shame on you FITBIT, I will take my business elsewhere!!

Yes, FITBIT sucks for not handling something as simply replacing a band if everyone is having so many issues with their charge 2. Thanks for the info.

How long have you had this replacement band?  Curious if it's the same under a different name.

Other companies you will find on Amazon have made better versions that seem to hold up better. At the everybody’s spending to keep using their Fitbits before long we will have spent enough to have bought an Apple Watch

i understand the design issues are the root cause of customer unhappiness.
Customer service is good but we all want a better product.

Singapore user: Didn’t realise this was such a widespread systemic problem. Ur right, I love the tracker but if FitBit keeps playing possum when it comes to the faulty strap, it’s time to graduate to AppleWatch tho I wish I didn’t have to for obvious reasons: cost. But better to bite and switch than having to pay $40 every 3 months for.a new strap🧘🏿‍:male_sign:😕

Maybe you should go back and read the old posts of how they were treated when they tried to get a resolution.

If your interested in a warranty replacement, then yes, please read the warranty.

If your interested in buying a replacement band, we have the Fitbit store and Amazon.

Personally I find the Amazon store a better deal.
