Unable to set up Cardio Load on Charge 6

ANSWERED

Cardio load is appearing on my charge 6, but I am unable to set it up. I get the first 2 screens in setup without difficulty but get an error on the third and have to exit. On the today screen of the App it shows cardio load but always says it’s calibrating. I do get a score most days,  just don’t get a target range. Any idea when this will be fixed?

@RiekoC Didn't work for me unfortunately, even with a complete reinstall of the app.

@JPorty   I can't explain your error message.  The fact that you see a cardio load and that it says calibrating suggest that it is set up.  I can tell you that your need seven days and nights of data to calibrate before you get your target load.

Hi @JPorty and @LZeeW , i'll be glad to help you setting up your cardio load. Thank you for your help @LZeeW!

To setup your cardio load, follow the steps below:

- From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the Cardio load tile. Follow the instructions in the app to choose your goal and begin tracking cardio load.

Note that cardio load should appear instantly and shouldn't require time to calibrate.

On the other hand, target load needs time to calibrate to you. Your first target load range appears after 7 days of accumulating cardio load and sleeping with your device. To get the most accurate target, wear your watch during the daytime, especially during periods of exercise.

If you find troubles setting up your cardio load, ensure your Charge 6 is updated to the latest Firmware version. You can follow the instructions in our help article How do I update my Fitbit device? below the section "How do I update Fitbit devices?"

I hope this information will be helpful. Have a fitness day!

Thanks David. I wasn’t very clear in my first post. I wear my Fitbit 24/7 unless charging it. I exercise daily. The help on cario load says it doesn’t need calibrating but you can see in the first screen shot that it says ‘calibrating’. When I first noticed this new tile I went into setup and clicked the option to improve cardiac health. That took me to the next screen where I again clicked next. The third screen, screen shot 2, also has a ‘next’ button but this doesn’t work and I have no option but to exit setup. This means I never get a target load range. My recent update was to 4.32.
Thanks.

I have the same problem with my Inspire 3 v. 4.32- I have to exit on the 3rd step. (Edited to correct the Fitbit I own- don’t know why I called it Versa 2 🤣 )

Hi @JPorty & @Jenap89. Thank you for your responses and thanks for the screenshot @JPorty.

Upon checking the first screenshot, you'll see the devices icon on the top left corner. That icon shows a littler red point. This means a firmware update is available.

Please follow the instructions below if possible to do so:

- Tap the Devices icon (the one mentioned) then your Charge 6 image.
- Tap the pink Update button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and keep the device close to your phone during the update. After you start the update, a progress bar appears on your device and in the Fitbit app until the update is complete.

I expect these steps will release cardio load setup. Have a great day!

Hi, I have the exact same issue. Have updated everything, to no resolve. Did you get it to work? I have to exit set up on the third page.

Danica09,

The cardio still doesn’t work with my version 4.32. I have no red dots like DavidFitBit described, so I take that to mean I’m not eligible for an update yet. Hopefully when a new update comes out, it will work.

No, it’s still not working.
I suspect it’s a software issue and we have to wait until there’s an update.

Mine is set up and gives me a target. My question is will there be something that tells us what exercises would get us to that target daily?

Hello @Lilbit69

As far as I've seen, there hasn't been any workout or activity recommendations to achieve the target.

FWIW, I've had multiple days where all my cardio load comes from general activities rather than logged workouts and still met my recommended daily target range.

Thanks David. I updated as advised but the same problem occurs when I try to set up cardio load. I can’t get past the third check and have to exit cardio load, so even though the dialog box gives a target, the cardio load tile says no target.

Before I updated my app a couple of days ago I was able to set a cardio load goal. Unfortunately with that last update my goal got removed and I see the same error when clicking through the steps to set a goal. I hope this gets resolved soon!

Me too. Updated app yesterday and now get stuck trying to setup cardio load. Have an Inspire 3.  Hopefully there’ll be a fix soon.

No Danica, I still have to exit on the third page. In a dialog box above the cardio load box I now get a target for the day though it still says ‘no target’ in the cardio load tile. That’s helpful, but until we can complete the setup we won’t be able to see trends etc.

@JPorty I seem to have the same problem (although I didn't experience an error message when setting up cardio load).

I use a Luxe and set my goal to improve. I now get a goal mentioned in the (rather annoying) daily pop up, but the tile still says "no goal" and there is no goal shown on the graph. I also don't get any feedback for reaching my goal, which I should have according to what the pop up message says.

Funnily my husband did get a goal. He has a Charge 5 and he didn't choose neither improve nor maintain. So it's really weird that he gets a target and I don't.

Hello @JPorty , @flauschtrud , @Miri_Ela , @Walker963

Although I'm not sure that this will work, you could try clearing the cache for the Fitbit app on your phone and see if that allows you to finish the Cardio load setup process.

If clearing the cache doesn't work, try clearing the storage/data for the Fitbit app, followed by force stopping the app, then open the app. You will need to log back in after clearing the Fitbit app storage/data.

It worked, thank you!!! Had to delete completely and then reinstall and now everything’s working:)

Thanks. Clearing the cache makes no difference and I’m not prepared to erase a year of data. Hopefully there’ll be a fix soon.
