My Fitbit One is synching daily steps count just fine, but when it changes to the next day my previous day's information is no longer on the app. It has not saved any information in 15 days. This is not a problem of the device/app synching, which it does nicely every day. But rather a saving of the step count to the days previous.
Curiously if I go back about 15 days of 0 steps showing, on the 16th day in history the steps have been saved and show up. So there is this window of 16+ days including the current days as they become history, that shows the 0 steps. HELP
p.s. I have tried uninstall and reinstall of the app, twice. Open close phone.)

I finally broke down and got the Inspire 3 (it works as a clip on too). Very disappointed about the One that I've worn for 10 years. The Inspire is about same size as the One and feels the same clipped to my bra. So far, it is saving my history, although I'm only on day 2. It did not recover the month of missed steps. Still a bunch of zero days. Who know how long the Inspire will keep working. Very disappointed in the whole situation for sure

My Inspire 3 is saving my steps since I got in on 09/20/24 so at least that issue has been solved. And yes, it no longer gives us credit for stairs which I don't really mind since I hardly go up any these days.

The Inspire 3 and all other trackers I've looked at, at Amazon do dozens of things (blood pressure, oxygen count, measure sleep REM, deep, etc, the list is mind boggling), but I don't know if these other fitness trackers have good software that is useable on a computer, say. What I did notice is that all these other trackers are all half as much money as the Fitbits.

Fellow ONE owners, I may have some good news! (fingers crossed).
I was on a chat with Fitbit/Google yesterday asking for some resolution to the app's failures with it's One devices.
I was told that there is an update in the works, and I quote from that chat:
"....the Fitbit app's new version which is version 4.27. The rollout is expected to be completed by, October 9th."
Here's a capture from my conversation with Fitbit/Google customer service guy
As I say above, fingers crossed.

The Fitbit App shows that version 4.27 came out 3 days ago. I did the update, but it didn't fix the issue we've all been having. There have been around 5 updates since this all started back on August 27th. I have attached a copy of Fitbit app updates, but none of them has fixed my issue. For now, I'm using the Inspire 3, and it is working fine and storing my
steps. I bought a clip and it's the same size as our beloved One's, so no real difference in the way it feels. But, it did not recover the missing month of history. Ugh...

I installed the update 4.27 three days ago and it did nothing to fix the problem.
How can a big company take so long to fix this, unless they want us all to give up on our One's ?

I'll contact my case no online chat guy again, and tell him your experience.
This is so disheartening.
Thank you for your feedback, Computiac

MsMax - I've attached a few pics of my new Inspire 3 in the clip so you could see what it looks like. I'm still hoping they fix the One that I've used for 10 years, but for now, the Inspire is working and storing my steps. Who knows how long though..

I have a Fitbit One and my husband has an Inspire 3. I sync both of them on my phone at the same time every night. His history is being kept but I have no history since Aug 26th. When I contacted Fitbit, their only answer was to get a new device. I do not want to do that. We have a program with our insurance that we can earn gift cards by walking. Again, his steps are being sent to the program, but mine are not. My lifetime steps are being updated every day so I know the data is getting to Fitbit but who knows why it disappears. I have not gotten the newest update yet. My last one was 4.26.1. Still hoping for the fix to be done.

At this point I don't think its safe to buy another fitbit for fear they will kill it off also.
The Inspire 3 looked real good as a replacement but not after reading the article you posted a link to.
This whole thing with them making a mess of the app and never saying a word about it is just wrong , I highly doubt it will be fixed.
If they were not going to support the One's and other models, they should have come out and said they would be phase out and give us a timeline for it.

I totally agree with you. This whole thing is so underhanded. And I thought Google promised to "do no harm" in their original mission statement.
Did you check out the site that shows all the programs and products they've "killed off"
The website is called the Google Graveyard and there are 296 listings to date, with both beginning and end dates provided.
I used to be such a huge fan of all things Google but with this latest 'disgusting' demise of Fitbit by them and then not letting fans know, is pushing me to find a different browser, for starters.
I don't like being treated like this.

@jlmcgar @Foxtail24 Since you have both updated to the Inspire 3, it appears that your devices are working as expected (except the lack of history before you activated the new devices). Is that correct? I have a One and am using an Android phone. My phone has not gotten the new 4.27 update yet, but it appears that it didn't help fellow One users who did get it.
Could you please let the rest of us know if the history missing from the end of August to whenever you activated your Inspire 3 is ever restored with one of the fixes? I would certainly appreciate it, and I assume others would too.

@peppygirl I am still on Android 4.26.1 as well, but it doesn't sound like 4.27 fixed the One history issue for those who have already gotten the update. I too am holding onto hope for now. I do not want a new device either, especially given the lack of support this issue is receiving.

Hi Penny26, the Inspire 3 is working within specified parameters but the missing steps have NOT been restored and are gone forever. This of course does not amuse me in the least but there isn't anything I can do about it. I manually entered the steps from the One into my insurance app just before bed but that of course wasn't accurate but was better than nothing. The Inspire 3 is working fine and is recording steps, active minutes and sleep but does not give me stairs like the One did and is a lot more complex. Which of course means it will crap out a heck of a lot sooner than ten years if Google doesn't kill it sooner.

An update. I just got this email from Fitbit Customer Service that says they have deemed our issue with the app and our One devices a legit one, with a "solution" promised in a few weeks.

For what it's worth, if I can keep using my One, it would be terrific.

Not that I'm holding my breath, but at this point (waiting for the Inspire 3 to go on sale) I don't have much to lose and everything to gain if they really fix this.

My One stopped keeping data the end of August, too. And rewards point through AARP stopped registering Sept. 7th.
Just yesterday, I got this email from Fitbit Customer Service that says they have deemed our issue with the app and our One devices a legit one, with a "solution" promised in a few weeks.
Fingers crossed. Nothing much to lose and the gain of my One functioning if they actually come through with a working solution.
