How do I cancel Fitbit Premium trial?

ANSWERED

On a whim, I clicked on the “try Premium for a week free” box that kept popping up in my Fitbit app (this is just Fitbit Premium, not the Coach thing).

I’m now in the free trial period and would like to cancel before being charged. The only instructions I can find re cancelling direct me to apple - but there is nothing showing up in my appleTV settings regarding this subscription (my others are there, but nothing about Fitbit). The free trial is definitely ongoing since my screens/info have changed in the app.

It’s really very aggravating that it’s been made so difficult to cancel. Could someone please direct me to the right place?

Ive tried to cancel from the apple store and the fitbit app and dont see the cancel option in either.  Do I have to wait til my trial is up to cancel?

No, you can do it now. I have an android,  but I just went to my fitbit app, clicked on my photo on the top left which brought me to my account, scrolled down to "manage my account or subscription" or something like that, then cancelled from there.

No you can do it now. I have an android phone, but I went to my fitbit app, clicked on my photo in the upper left corner which brought me to my account. I scrolled down to "subscription", then "manage my subscription" under that, and did it right from there.

Did you check your subscriptions page in your Apple account?  That's where it's supposed to show up and it seems like most people do see it there.  It didn't show up in my subscriptions during my trial period last year though - unclear why - which is why I resorted to searching for the original "welcome" email I received after signing up for the trial period.  That email had a link which took me to a page with the Fitbit subscription - I was able to cancel it from there.  Hope that helps.  Good luck!

@Abnsamsmom Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.

If you're no longer seeing the "Cancel Subscription" link on your app store subscription settings then it means the subscription has already been cancelled.

As mentioned by @Marykidd @Redclover, the whole procedure on how to cancel it can be found here

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

So I have been trying to cancel my Fitbit premium trial, however when I first signed up I had an android and now I have an iPhone, how can I cancel it?

Have you still got the original email they sent to confirm the Premium? If you have, use the link. Other than that, can you still sign in to your Android account on your computer?

I’m sorry, I know very little about Android as I’ve got an iPhone. Online it says Google Play also has Manage Purchases. Is it in there? I have so much sympathy. This has caused so many people so much grief. It’s unworthy of a company as well-known as Fitbit. It’s law that it has to be easy to unsubscribe from unwanted emails, so why doesn’t the same apply to trial subscriptions?
Is there anything in your Google Play account that shows a history of your purchases? Maybe you can get at this from there? Can you send an email to Fiibit to say you want to cancel, just so there is a record of your wishes if you can’t do it in time?
I wish I could help further.

okay so it was easy to cancel my subscription, but unfortunately the annoying (and rather gratuitous) premium features are apparently going to continue until the 90-day free trial period ends and I really want to get rid of them now. how can I make my Fitbit app go back to normal -- what I know and love!.

thanks!

@Gymladyft Hey there. Thank you for the support given in this thread.

@DeviceGuru Thanks for letting me know that you cancelled your subscriptions. Sorry to hear that you didn't like Fitbit Premium.

As you mentioned, when you cancel your subscription, your Fitbit app will still show the Premium view on your app until your trial ends. In the meantime, you may want to check the online Dashboard because Premium is an app feature.

While you have the Premium view on your app, you could take advantage of the Guided Programs or Fitbit Coach features. I'm sure these could help you with your exercise goals.

I tried that but there was no option to cancel the trial. Looks like you have to wait till they bill you and the subscription became a an annual one, then you have to to try and cancel it.
Really unethical and not user friendly at all.
I have spent ages on this.
very annoying

@SunsetRunner It's nice to see you on the Community. Thanks for the troubleshooting tried prior to posting.

I see where you're coming from.

If you're no seeing the 'Manage your Subscription' button on your Fitbit app, you need to go to the store where you purchased your subscription from and then look for Fitbit and cancel it from there.

As mentioned previously, if you're not seeing the 'Cancel Subscription' link on your app store, this means that your subscription has been canceled.

Let me know the outcome. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Very disappointed that Fitbit makes cancelling premium so difficult.

Go to Apple website and search cancel subscriptions. Everything you have subscribed to will be displayed.

Sadly I didn’t even know that I had agreed to the free trial through Apple!

So, after an arduous task of trying to cancel this rediculous 'free trial' I talked with Jake at Fitbit  [who was not very helpful and was verbally agressive to me].  But, the simple answer is as follows:

Step #1: Go into Fitbit App (sign in if you have to)

Step #2: Go to the top left hand corner and click on the circle with a head character

Step #3: Scroll down to 'manage subscriptions' and click on

Step #4: you are redirected to your google subscriptions

Step #5: Click on the Fitbit section

Step #6: Click on the Service you are trying to cancel - a message should pop up at the bottom that says "select an option to resubscribe" which means [to me] that I had successfully unsubscribed.

I clicked on the 90 day free trail which was due to end on 27th July 2020. too Today, 10 days before the end of the trial,  Fitbit tried to debit my account for £7.99,  the monthly subscript! Not impressed as didn't get any benefit from premier and wouldn't subscribe to it.  I was able to cancel it by going into my Fitbit account  and clicking on Manage Subscriptions.

I tried all the solutions suggested on the forums but none of them allowed
me to unsubscribe. This seems to be because until the trial ends, I am not
subscribed. From previous information though, I strongly suspect that the
minute the trial ends, I will be debited the annual fee of $129. I would
then have the task of unsubscribing, but also the battle of getting my
money back.

I finally rang Apple Support and a really helpful and tenacious guy spent a
lot of time on the phone with me, in between seeking help elsewhere, and
finally confirmed that the subscription would not start automatically. It
took ages for him to investigate this. I have three days to go before the
trial ends. Fingers crossed, and we will soon find out if this worked, but
he assured me it wouldn't happen.
