Hi, I would like to cancel my Fitbit premium subscription before the free trial ends. When I googled it, it said to go to acc and settings and There should be a cancel/manage subscriptions tab but there’s not.

Why is it so difficult to cancel the Fitbit Premium free trial?  I have tried everything suggested and I still can't cancel.  I now regret accepting the free trial offer.  What next?

This did not work for me.   In the end I went to the iTunes store on my pc and once I had logged into my Apple account I found a link to manage subscriptions right at the very bottom of the page in small print.  It is very frustrating that something that should be simple to do is made so difficult!

after pressing "manage my subscriptions" and when it directed me to my play store, Fitbit was not there, only other subscriptions that I have. Is there another way to cancel subscription please?

Best Answer

I went into my Apple ID account via the iTunes app, then scrolled down to Settings, and 'Subscriptions' was the last item on the list.  It told me I had two subscriptions, so I then clicked on the blue 'manage' link on the right.  This then took me to the two subscriptions which I was then able to edit.

Thank you for your reply, but this did not work for me.  There is no option to cancel.  Based on the thread, everyone is having the same problem.

Tried to find how to cancel the free trial in Community but the app on my phone didn't show ANY of the info contained in the "Best Answer" instructions listed there.  I did notice several people also could not cancel their subscriptions either.  Finally waited in que for a chat and was told that the "purchase" was made through Google Play and I would have to cancel through that!!!  It took me a while to find it in Google play and after about two hours of trying to get help through Fitbit, (to not much avail) I finally found that the free subscription will cancel in August and now I know where to go to check that this does get cancelled.  I'm very disappointed in how hard it was to get to anyone to help me through Fitbit, their customer service used to be so good.  My Iconic is my 3rd Fitbit and I've enjoyed all three over many years but NEVER had this much trouble finding an answer or someone to help me with a problem.

Hey everyone! Thank you for participating on the forums.

I appreciate the troubleshooting tried prior to posting and the details mentioned. Your feedback is truly appreciated.

I'd like you to double check that you're logged into the same Google or Apple account that you were when you subscribed to Premium, this might be the reason why you're not seeing any Fitbit subscription. Additionally, please confirm you're doing this procedure to cancel your subscription:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab

     > your profile picture.

  2. Scroll down and tap Manage Subscriptions. Your active subscriptions open in your phone’s app store.
  3. Tap your Fitbit Premium subscription > Cancel Subscription. Note that you won't see this option if you already canceled your subscription.

If you subscribed from Fitbit.com, then follow the instructions shared here

Let me know the outcome. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

DID NOT WORK FOR ME. Going to cancel Apple Pay, so no renewals of any of these apps can be charged.

I am still not able to cancel the free trial subscription following these steps. I get taken around in a circle to Google play, them I type in fitbit (as it doesn't show as a subscription), then it takes me back to the Download/open Fitbit screen, click on manage subscriptions and back to set up at Google play.

Please fix this bug or cancel my subscription please. I will not be happy if I get charged when I have spent over an hour trying to unsubscribe...

These instructions are nonsense. As others in this thread have noted, there IS NO "Manage Subscriptions" option either in the Fitbit app or on the Fitbit website.

So how do I cancel my Fitbit premium subscription?

Best Answer

I need an easy way to cancel this fitbit premium thing.  I believe i accepted an offer for the premium when I had my iphone that I no longer have i have gone android.  Now i can't find anywhere to cancel this thing.  It seems it's way too difficult.  I think i've finally had enough of fitbit.  Recently had my charge 3 replaced on warranty and I see the lines starting again.  They never did send me a new band for the broken one, wanted me to hand write a letter and send them a picture of it?  Bull they are doing what they can to cause their customers grief and I had been a huge supporter of fitbit.  How do i cancel this?

That is CRAZY and should be illegal to make it so difficult to cancel a revolving fee.  I'm seriously done with fitbit over this.  I went and found my old iphone in a drawer and charged it up enough to open it, logged in on to the fitbit app on it and then was able to cancel.  I couldn't even remember where I signed for it.  The worst case of how to cancel a recurring trial I have seen in years since way back when companies purposefully made it difficult to cancel so you would just keep paying.

I agree.

Hey everyone! Thanks for getting back.

I truly appreciate your feedback and comments regarding the cancellation procedure. As mentioned before, you'll find the "Manage Subscriptions" on your Fitbit app and this will take you to Apple or Google Store, there you'll be able to cancel your membership.

If you subscribed to Premium using either Apple or Google Store, follow this procedure to cancel it. If you subscribed from Fitbit.com then follow this procedure

If you're no longer seeing the "Cancel Subscription" link in the app store subscription settings then it means the subscription has already been cancelled.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Hi everyone -

I just called FitBit customer support at 877-623-4997 and asked a rep to cancel my Premium subscription. I was given a case number. I suggest you all do the same.

I have now had 2 posts removed, and a third post edited, for pointing out that there is NO "manage subscription" option in the app.

Yesterday I was charged $9.99 by Google Play Store for a Premium subscription I never used. Google agreed to reverse the charge and I filed a dispute with my credit card, but canceling my subscription through FitBit has been a Kafkaesque nightmare. It's just the same instruction over and over, after I posted a screenshot showing that there is no "manage subscription" option in the app, and after other users in this thread have said it does not exist for them, either.

It has been 2 hours and I have received NO response to my request on how to cancel my Premium membership. I have only had posts removed and received two nasty messages from the moderators.

I sincerely hope FitBit executives are monitoring these message boards, so they can see how unhelpful their moderators are.

Hi all I was able to get mine sorted! I recieved the email from Google saying the renewal was coming due, but under my secondary email. So in my email under my Initial (C for me), there is a Manage subscriptions spot to click. I went in, scrolled to the right "options bar" ("home", "personal data", etc) clicked payments and subscriptions. and that email address didn't have any subs. So I went back to the Big "C" chose my other email account and there it was under subscriptions! Clicked on fitbit, canceled sub, and recieved a clarification email in seconds! I'm not tech savvy so hopefully you can follow my muddled steps... do not go through Google play go through Google. Hope this helps someone else!
