Active Users Showing as Inactive to Friends

Update 10/24/2017: Hi everyone, we made some further updates that have resolved this issue and friends who are currently active should be visible. Thanks for your reports! 

Update 7/13/17: Everyone -- I moved various threads relating to this topic here to keep this discussion organized.

I followed up with our Social team today. They are well aware of the issue and are working closer toward a resolution. At this time, I don't have a specific time-frame for when this will get resolved, but will update all of you when I receive another update.

I completely agree, it is disappointing. I even had 10 colleagues buy new
fitbits so we could have challenges, they are all having fun but I am
showing inactive to them. I think gamification is a terrific way for
engagement, too bad FitBit doesn't have the skill to fix. They could reach
out as I offered but haven't heard from them.

My son just told me I came up on his app; I'm checking with other friends now!

Finally, with out any particular announcement or information from Fitbit my friends told me they could finally see me hurrah! Pleased it has finally been resolved

While my wife and others starting showing up as active there are still many on my list that are still showing up as inactive.

I was invisible to 4 friends for over a year. Now I am visible to them. Seems to be ok.

This started happening again for me 2 days ago, I checked the help info and it said to re-start my Fibit which I did and it worked, also load your newest updates.

My father is showing up inactive - I have read everything from 2015 and tried everything but he is still inactive. Any idea on how to change this?

This company obviously have no intention of fixing this error as there are no excuses for this lasting a year. They are falsely advertizing this products capabilities and should be made accountable for it. We should all give reviews online saying that there is an ongoing fault so am unable to compete against some people. Unless this issue is resolved then we should be given compensation for buying a product that does not fully do what its supposed to

Resolved. Deleted my inactive friend that i added and got them to add me using my email and its worked
