Hello Ionic family!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1.2.
We started releasing this new update to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases aren’t distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside.

Thanks for the information, unfortunately a little late. Maybe an owner will see this ahead of any future updates.

I guess according to Fitbit, complain, get the 25% off, buy a Versa Lite to get an extra 40% off, and throw the Idiotonic in the garbage. It is JUNK! Completely worthless experience! I can't explain the frustration, especially when you expect something to work longer than at least 1/2 life span of a normal device!

Dead Ionic. Nothing happening. Tried the 'press 3 button, release bottom right button, wait for vibration' routine. Nothing. Dead. Help please so I can be as enthused about the release as you are.

How do you reset something that is sitting there completely turned off, dead? Be more than glad to give it a try. Other than that is is going to be not around my wrist, but a garbage bag.
Thanks

My 6 month old Ionic purchased on 11/5/19 is now dead. It went from 80% charged to flat out dead in the blink of an eye. It won’t turn on nor respond to a hard reboot, and I have tried many times! This is just so disappointing and what a waste of $300 + additional accessories purchased.

Factory reset DOES. NOT. WORK! That is the issue. People have dead watches that respond to NOTHING!

LouannD you are good at least for now. There is a 1 year manufacturer warranty if you still have receipt, hopefully you do.

Like so many others my ionic is dead. Touch screen not working, battery wont charge, reset not working, it is completely unusable. It was working fine till this new update.

After the update my ionic stopped tracking steps, monitoring heart rate, the date is off, it resets by itself, and so on. I've tried troubleshooting steps, no help. This is beyond disappointing.

My watch was also affected after the update. I have tried everything that was mentioned and nothing worked.
I then tried factory reset. Removed the Ionic from the app. When restarting the watch, it booted up and asked to download the app. I tried then to add the device, but after going through all the promps, it finds the device but will not connect to the tracker

So there may be some hope. I was bored this morning and tried a hard reset and it turned on. Battery was at 50%. Put it back to charge. It’s now at 100%. And seems to be working. So maybe it take 4 or more days to internally update. (That was attempt at sarcasm).
I will give it a couple days to see what happens.
sidenote: Fitbit messaged me yesterday to see how they could help, and I replied within a minute to what happened and no reply back.
Fitbit you need to step up your customer service.

@MattFitbitMatt, you said:
"Read our help article for the latest updates."
That link doesn't provide any details at all about the latest update other than stating bugs were fixed. A detailed list of bugs would be helpful. Specifically, I was *hoping* that you fixed the exercise start button. The previous update broke that function and I have to use the Start icon. My watch is now on 70.7.27 and that bug is still not fixed. What gives?

Fitbit is sending me a new Ionic because mine was only 6 months old. Seems this update killed many Ionics and I think Fitbit should extend their warranty out to 3 years. They’re offering discounts off a new watch if it’s over a year old. I think that’s very unfair as it’s their software update that killed the Ionic. My situation was totally hassle free. It’s still an inconvenience to not have it on my wrist as I’m addicted to it.
Good luck to everyone!
